I just got Taiko no Tatsujin for my PS2. It being a CD-R, I am trying to use the Swap Magic 3.0 disk. I am getting nothing but a red screen when I load "normal mode" and "special load" just goes to a black screen. Am I missing something here? E19.gif E19.gif E19.gif

And by "got" you mean "downloaded", right?

A red screen using Swap Magic (any version) means it's a bad burn. You either didn't burn the game correctly, or the CD you used was bad.

Make up your mind.

CD-R means CD-Recordable, NOT legit game CD. If you're trying to say it's a CD, just say it's a CD. If you call it a CD-R, people will assume you either downloaded it or copied it, either way being illegal and frowned upon.

Anyways, about the problem. It may be your PS2 laser, but I doubt it if other games run fine. Try other CD-based games. If the Swap Magic CD disc works, then your laser isn't the problem.

Yes I purchased it, yes it's a CD. Sorry my mistake. Anyhow, my Swap Magic DVD works (currently playing DDR Extreme), and other people have played "Taiko" on US PS2. So not cool.

You don't use the Swap Magic DVD for Taiko, or any other CD games. You need to use the Swap Magic CD version (There are two Swap Magic discs: one for DVDs, and one for CDs) in order to get import or backup CD-based games to run.

Never mind. I just found out that Tatsu no Tatsujin 2 Doki!, is an add-on CD to the first version, and will not play on its own.

I am going to take this up with the store I bought it from. It says nothing on their site about "doki!" being an add-on and not an actual stand alone game.

I dunno about this Doki, but TnT2 IS a stand alone game. Maybe what you bought is just an add-on to TnT1, cause TnT2 is definitely a stand-alone game, as it gets play on my PS2 quite often.

Is your version of TnT2 a CD or DVD?

Guess what Andy? The CD version of Swap Magic, won't work for "TnT" on my friends PS2 either.

I am going to kick something now.

If he bought it and has the real copy it is not illegal to copy it for YOURSELF

It might just be the disc of my original TnT2 that is not booting. I'm going to try and make a backup disc of it and see if the game being on a new CD will help.

A red screen using Swap Magic (any version) means it's a bad burn. You either didn't burn the game correctly, or the CD you used was bad.

That's erroneous information, son.

The CD version always gets a red screen, whether it's good or bad. The DVD version is the one that uses a red border to siginify a bad burn.

Also, I cannot get it to boot either. I'm using SwapMagic 3.2 on a Slimline PS2.

Hi everyone. I ran across this thread after I just bought TnT2 (Doki). I can't get it to work either. The other versions I have work fine. I'm using a PS2 v4 with fliptop and SwapMagic 3.0.

Has anyone gotten TnT2 to work? If so, what kind of system are you using?

Also, I was thinking about buying versions 4 and 5, but I'm kind of hesitant now. Does anybody know if they will work? Thanks!

Doki is an addon(append) disc. It cannot be booted directly by swap magic. The only way you'll get it to work is with a JPS2 and the original game it's appended to, or to have a modchip that allows direct boot.

I keep reading conflicting things about this then. Earlier in this thread someone states that it's a standalone disc. I think the only game that came out before Doki was the original TnT. I have that game, but I don't see anywhere in the menus about switching discs. I guess it won't matter since I don't have the right mod, but I would like to get a definitive answer either way.

Do you have this game, and what's your setup if you do?
