Hi. I was at Best Buy the other day, and noticed that Karaoke Revolution vol. 3 comes with a USB microphone. My question is, does the microphone work with US and JP systems, or just US? I wanted to make sure, since I plan on getting a few Japanese releases as well, I figured I may as well save money if it will work. Thanks! _________________

The US microphone is only compatable with the US game, Im not sure why (Caus hardware isn't normally region coded).
The JP microphone is hand held though. _________________

They will work in opposite regioned PS2's as long as the game calls for use, though.
ie: the u.s microphone will work on a modded japanese ps2 to play u.s games.... and vice versa, in case you were wondering.

To answer your question:
In KR USA, the microphone plugs into any USB slot. (And works on your PC too!). You'll also have to plug a normal controller into the first controller port.
In KR JP, I believe the microphone plugs into the first controller port and a dual shock must go into the second.
(For the non-KR players out there: You need a dual shock to navigate the menus.)
By the way, you do know that the Japanese KR is nothing like our KR, right? It sounds to me like you just saw Harmonix' KR on the shelves and you wanted to see what the Japanese 'version' looked like. But the Japanese game of the same name looks and plays nothing like Harmonix' KR. Just a heads up. |
