Mad Catz known for their 3rd party controllers, will release their first console game, MC Groovz Dance Craze. It's coming out for the GameCube. More info can be found in the press release.

i know, i read about that too! By the looks of its its gonna suck. This game could have had potential. Im gonna keep an eye on it but probably not get it. Hopefully its a bargain bin game.

If only Madcatz would focus on what they do best and make a decent metal pad, we'd have it made in the shade, of course then we wouldnt be buying more of the soft dance pads which they are known for and which we have to replace more than I can count.

Finally a dance game for the gamecube, maybe if it sells well it will encourage other companies such as konami to make dance related games for the gamecube. Does anybody know the release date?

Hey kids! Did you know that the number one determiner of whether or not a music game sucks is the music that they include? So maybe we should wait and see how badly the songlist sucks before we simply assume it's horrible based on screenshots of the interface.

it may look ugly from the screenshots...but you gotta give it up to mad katz for getting the ball rolling so to speak for the gamecube. The song list isnt anything i listen to, but it looks like it could make a good party game. lets wait for a video soon before you make a decision on it. and even if it does suck, they did konami's job of making a pad, i think it should entice them to make a ddr for the cube kids.

The Magic Box - MC Groovz Dance Craze

The box has what I'd guess is a preliminary list of artists on the game. One of which is Kevin Lyttle. This probably means that dancehall reggae song I can't get away from, "Turn Me On", is in the game

On a side note, 4-arrow mode is also available in the game, with circular layout or DDR-style vertical scroll. They've flipped up and down on the arrow markers, though, probably to avoid copyright violations or something.

The pad basically looks like the Mad Catz pad available for PS2 and Xbox, which means it will in all likelihood suck.

Argh...yeah, that is pretty ugly looking. I'm confused as to why 1P and 2P are in different vertical positions on the screen (look at the 2nd page of pictures at Magic Box). Could be nice and difficult, though, with an 8-panel setup...I might wait for some reviews before I throw 50 bucks into this, but I'm at least happy that some form of rhythm game is gonna be on the Cube now.
