|
|
I'm looking for a cable that will let me hook up my monitor out connection from the back of my Raedon to my TV thru the S-Video, R, W, and Y...
I have seen various boxes that allow this but they are all >$100 and I think a cable should be sufficient.
I also need a cable that will come from my sound card to the Audio on a TV...
All help is appreciated. |

If your video card has S-video out or just video out then go it might have came with a cable or go to radio shack or a computer store and by one. I don't know if you can get a cable to hook up the sound card to a TV...just go to compusa and get some 20 buck speakers. _________________

Yeah it has S-Video out so I think that'll work fine.
The thing is that it is a 51" "Big Screen" and little $20 speakers won't do so well... |

good 20 dollar speakers
I use these speakers. they don't look like much, but it supports 3d stereo sound, and those little speakers put out more than you could ever expect. I recall a door in my house shaking from the bass on the subwoofer, which is only about a foot high. probably THE best speakers for the price and size. they don't weigh anything, and the desktop speakers there are only about an inch thick. that's not the exact model I have, but I'm sure they are close enough. |

Speakers aren't an issue, I currently have some JBL Creatures hooked up to my computer. I was just wondering if I wanted to hook it up to a surround sound system (5.1+) how would I go about doing that? |

well than say that next time and don't talk about how $20 speakers won't work for you :-P
you would either have to have a sound card that supports 5.1 surround or a stereo microphone input on your receiver. the former is probably the best way to go, since at that point your computer would be supporting 5.1 surround and splitting the channels properly through the use of RCA output to your receiver. The latter would only split it into stereo sound with 5 speakers, at which point I would just say get the 20 dollar speakers and deal with it.
so you need either an rca output on your soundcard, or a stereo phone input on your receiver. unless you really want to splice wires. |

I know this is dated but i need to bring it up anyway.
I have an adapter i bought at radio shack that hooks from an audio card into RCA Audio inputs. This way, I have it hooked up to a T.V.s Audio jacks and it plays through those speakers... _________________

oh, cool. I wish I had looked for one of those before I just decided to splice wires to be able to hook up my computer to the 10 speaker stereo. completely fried the speakers over time, which is when I bought those kinyo flat speakers. |
