Ok at the nearby place w/ DDR they have a deal where u can get 280 tokens for $49. That's pretty nice, seeing as using that in the first place would get you 196 tokens. You get 84 tokens ($21 worth, which is 21 games of DDR biggrin.gif ) for free. I have DDR at home, so it's not like the arcades are my only means of playing it, but I like the arcade feel better than at home at time (plus lots more songs). Should I: a) Spend $50 dollars at once to save $21 dollars that I will probably spend on tokens later anyway or b) Spend my money little by little for each time I go there, but not get any bonus on money/tokens? Basically, the overall question is: Is the extra $21 dollars to spend worth the gradual spending of money getting just what I need over getting them all at once and having them always at my access? It just depends on how much you plan on going to that arcade. Personally, I'd go for it, but that's because I always whore our DDR and SC2 machines.

What I usually do is buy a lot when they have Specials and if I don't use that much a day, I go back and back and use the same tokens so next time I don't need to buy them.

the only thing that would suck is if you got the tokens and the next day they switched from tokens back to quarters laugh.gif

I'd go for it! If you know that you will eventually use the tokens, then i'd say its totally worth it.

If you have $49, why not spend it on something more practical? o.O

Yeah, $49 is a lot to drop at one time especially at an arcade. I never spend that much EVER at an arcade. That's probably how much I spend at an arcade in like 5 or 6 months.

Do you go to the arcade often? At mine, I usually spend 1.5-2h at a time, and usually go at least once a week... each time, dropping around $10-15 in game tokens, not counting the money I spend in water.

If I had that chance, I'd go for it :o - that is, if you know you're not like, moving... or the DDR machine is going baibai, etc.

I don't go to the arcades much right now anymore so now that much will usually last me around a year, no kidding.

I used to spend like 3 or 4 hours at the arcade. See, at my arcade they had joint premium so I only had to pay half the time. Like if my friend was going up he'd pay for this game and I'd join in and then the next game, I'd pay and he'd join in. Oh and I took advantage of their savings and discounts, PLUS I have a VIP arcade card so I was eilligible for even more discounts and savings.

I usually don't go to arcades very much, so that deal would last me like, a year. But if i did go to arcades often i probably would go for it.

I think I spend an average of $10 whenever I go to an arcade. But I make sure that it's a $10 bill so I can take advantage of whatever token special there is.

To answer the OG poster, it's always best to take advantage of a token special, because 1) you're getting free tokens and 2) you don't always have to spend them that day. If I had 280 tokens, I'd be set for a few months. biggrin.gif

yeah, I would definatly go for that deal E1.gif how many songs do you get for $1 though? 3 Im guessing... anyway, whats wrong with the gameworks one, cause the extreme machine in vegas sucked too and was wondering if they had the same problem. the one in LV froze about 2/3 through the song and then would all of a sudden blast all the arrows at you, dont know why they would be the same problem but it doesnt hurt to ask

My arcade as a similar deal, although not quite as good as yours (264 tokens for $50). Since I practically live there anyway, I always spend the $50 up front and get the good deal, especially since I can blow through those tokens in less than two weeks anyway... If you are going to get your good deal, which you should do if you play there more than once a month, is get a good sturdy bag (I use a locking bank deposit bag) and carry the tokens in that.

Wow, you just reminded me of the time I was at an arcade with someone who decided to play Love Shine with $20 worth of quarters in his pockets. Pure mayhem...

The place that I go to(Tilt) doesn't use a system of tokens; only quarters. And it's only 50 cents for 3 songs, too. But hey, if I was in your shoes and had the money to blow, whatever, do it.
