Recently at the movies some guy failed so deep on 3x. He was actually pretty close. So deep on 1x is usually my warmup song so I play it next. All of his friends were laughing at him, the usual hah! That little kid owned you! He looked pissed. I felt sort of bad.

playing songs after people fail them: right or wrong?

It's fine, long as you're not TRYING to show them up.

If you should blame it on anybody, it should be his friends. I don't know what's up with them, but the guy tried his best and that is all he can do. Obviously this guy's friends don't know that it is harder than it looks. Pretty dam tiring song too.

dont feel bad, i think that if you paid for the game, you should have the choice of what song you want to play, even if he failed the same one u just AAA'd or whatever

I think it's a little rude if a person plays a song someone else just failed just to show them up, but if that wasn't the intention then it's fine - it's not your problem how other people read your actions.

I've had that happen to me, before, though. I was playing Tsugaru (I would play it as my third song of every game and fail, because I was determined to pass it - I finally did, about a month ago, but that's beside the point), and, predictably, failed.

Then the person who had their token on the token line got up and looked at me, kind of smirking, and picked Tsugaru and AAed it. They gave me this incredibly smug look and then played a lot of much harder songs. It really made me angry, because in that case, they *were* trying to show me up.

I know they paid for that game, and I know they're perfectly entitled to play whatever they want, but the attitude was totally unnecessary. disgust.gif

But like I said - it's all about why you do it. If it's just because you planned to play that song anyway, then it's not rude at all, just coincidence.

On occasion someone will play a song I haven't played in a while, and I just have to play it. I usually wait a song before I do so if it was their last(failure or not.)

hey if u fail at a song and someone else comes up completes it, you should watch out for where u started to fail and see how they do it differently. Then get back up and try again.

Geez, so mean!! If your gonna make people feel that way, then maybe you shouldn't play. I sometimes do that, but not to show them up, I just play because I like that song. I also agree with if you fail and someone else passes it, then watch how he does it and see where you failed.

people always play songs that i failed each time i fail them.

they dont understand that i was on hvy mode. some of them dont even bother looking at what difficulty im playing on. THen started saying that i suck when they only on light mode. (no offense to anyone who flame me).

That is so true! They try to challenge you when your on heavy and they're on Light. Think there all bad and stuff. Can't they tell that its heavy?

Best and obvious solution for the light vs heavy thing: Heavy guy and light guy plays a game. Heavy guy switches to light more, and beats his opposition into oblivion. That's what I did when that kid tried to "prove" that difficulty settings didn't matter. Guess it worked, didn't hear that kind of stuff coming from him...

You know what I do when people show me up at the arcade? Assuming they're still around and waiting for another turn, I do an entire round of Buttefly Heavy. Just so they get to hear it 3 times in a row.

I'll do that to some people but I won't be all smug about it. If I AA it then I just look at it like normal and select the next song, I won't turn around giving them looks like "That's how you do it!" cause that's just downright wrong.

Haha, isn't that kind of hurting yourself as well? I know I'd get sick of that song...

it's only bad to play a song after someone failed it to show them up or if you know that the song was their complete weakness then yeah, it's screwed up, but if you're playing with a friend who braggs too much and and you just want him/her to shut up, then play the song... E15.gif laugh.gif

It's not really wrong. People shouldn't make fun of other people playing in the first place. As long as it is not deliberately done to make the person who failed feel even worse, it really is fine, despite the fact that other people may not like it.

i dont do a song after someone has failed it UNLESS they are all n00bish about it for example

little jonny passes dynamite rave down bird sota mix standard with a A and 32 greats but 5 goods he says he is the shiznet that nobody can beat him at this song so then big ian goes on the pad and chooses dynamite rave dbsm and jonny says you cant beat me at this im the best so then ian is like ok we will find out ian does d rave dbsm and passes... with 3 greats and a AA on hvy and then says and you were saying

by the way i really have got 3 greats on it E1.gif

xphoguytonyx just do it on standard its alot easier then hvy

but if also somebody does it on hvy i just show them up by doing the same song on doubles buyt im ok at doubles but so deep looks really cool when you do it on doubles same with .59
