Ok, I just bought an Red Octane Ignition dance pad for use with Stepmania, and, not knowing any better, purchased a RadioShack PS to USB adapter to connect it to my computer. The problem, as I'm sure everyone but me already knew, is that this adapter maps the step pads to a joystick axis, meaning that opposite directions cannot be pressed at the same time. A search on google suggested that some people have gotten around this problem by using third-party drivers or software that allows the mapping of any gamepad to be customized completely. Is this true? Thanks for your help. |

1. adapter sticky
2. not likely. there was a time when people said joy2key works to fix radio shack adapters, but I personally have never gotten one to work with it. instead of trying to get a drivers that are all hax0red, just suck it up and return the radio shack one if you can, and buy one that is well known to work. |

don't bother with the RS adapter. Joy2Key doesn't work, and no third-party drivers will. its a hardware issue. Also, its a waste of time to try, because even if you do. The plug has very slight Lag problems, which makes stepmania hard even if you map the pad to Tri,Cir,Squ,X... _________________
