OK guys I got two questions: Was guitar freaks ever released in the US in any version and if so where can I find it? I don't know crap about what I need to do to play import games on my PS2 plus I don't really have the cash to do too much. My other questions is about Gitaroo Man I have wanted this game for SOOO friggen long. Is there anywhere I can get it cheap? I found it on e-bay but they were all buy it now auctions for like 44 dollars. Thanks a lot, please don't be mad that I'm not using google to answer these questions, I've searched around, but couldn't find any straight answers so I thought I'd come to the experts. Thanks |

The only US version of Guitar Freaks is an arcade release of 1st Mix with only about 14 songs. Gameworks usually has one.
And there's that bizarre RPG Ephemeral Fantasia for PS2. Your main character is a bard, so you actually play Guitar Freaks at certain points. I've not gotten to play it, but supposedly it even works with the Guitar Freaks controller.

That was the only worthwhile part of that game. But those moments were few and far between...
As for getting Gitaroo-Man for cheap: Good luck. It's one of the rarest games for the PS2. I was lucky and got a brand new copy (after having sold it ages ago =X) while Circuit City was having that $5 clearance price (it's usually $20 there), but that was an EXTREMELY lucky find for me. You're going to have to get it on eBay, most likely. Most of the time, it goes for around $35. _________________

I used Froogle to find gitaroo man, and found a couple of places that had it for 34, but it didn't say if they were preowned or not, also I'm not sure if they are reliable sites. As far as guitar freaks go I played that once and I've been trying to find it ever since and my interest in it came back while I was looking at PS2 games over at Lik-Sang, what do I need in order to play import games on my PS2 and since it is a benami game and doesn't have a lot of text will I be able to understand whats going on even if it is all in Japanese (i'm trying to learn, but I wouldn't even call my understanding a beginners level) |
