I was just thinking ddr gets me no good friends (good as in like best friends). Where i live not 1 kid in my school plays DDR, they all just make fun of it because its "gay". What makes that lame is that there my friends who say it. At my school you play soccer over anything (our schools only sport we are good at). When i didnt want to play soccer (although im decent at it) I needed something to do so I started playing ddr! ALL my friends call ddr gay and although they are playing around its still mad annoying because when we get in our pissy fights they use it against me. The only problem with that is they dont I dont care about what they say because if i did i wouldnt play. So the awnser to my question (having no best friend who plays ddr) would be first well then go get new friends from your arcade, well thats a good idea but there all punks (like not lame punks like hard metal punks) and not to be steriotypical but im more gangster rap listening to kid and there hey lets go olli, I shoot hoop which would only lead to the problem of what to dol. I had 1 good friend who played ddr and was cool who moved to florida and now we seldom talk. Its really annoying and I play ddr alone because none of my friends want to go to the arcade because its all I do. Going to the mall is just lame unless you have money (thats the place thell go to without ddr) and is kinda boring. and it sucks.

only problem is im in pttisfield TGA is in... i have no rides to like anywhere because i just got my permit. So its hard to get to places.

Ah, the friend problem. Well, if they insult you about it, use the money comback (Well you can keep saying that while I just rake in the cash), or the imobility one (Hey, 'least I can move fast.). The imobility one might not work all the time because some people might be able to move faster than you (No offense). Also, it gets sorta lame after a while. Just use the money comeback as your local DDR saying.

AJ nope im in Pitssfield MA, bu I go to Lincoln NH a lot i donno how clsoe it is to you or what not.

the money thing i dont get that?? i dont win money i jsut spend a lot haha. Also it does get annoying because its constently not just once in a while.

None the less, although it is constant, try to ignore it. Although many consider it weak to let insults fly at you, I would rather not waste my time. I just do what I want in line to my own moral code, and don't let it interfere with anything. If they want to waste thier time insulting you, let them. Usually if you just ignore things they will get bored and quit. That's what I would do at least.

I used to be the same way. I am the only hardcore DDR player of Little Falls, MN. Then I started going online and started talking with DDR forums. Eventually I found out that 50 into the cities there was a large bemani community. Once and a while I visit and now I talk to some of these people online. I meet up with some of these people whenever possible.

Learn anything from this story?

i was lucky, i didn't really have that problem. i showed it to my friends and they aren't obsessed with it like me, but they think it's ok. if your friends havn't played, take them to play ddr (they might end up liking it). if they have played and still think it's gay, just keep playing anyway.

Well.....ok....lets see here. Your the only person who plays DDR and everyone makes fun of you because of it. And no friends.....
Ok....from my analyzis.. this is something that you can do. Show your friends something really cool related to DDR like a person doing really good while freestyling or something like that. Its either that. somehow open public awareness of DDR in your community. Stop playing DDR (i highly do NOT recommend that). Don't play it as much. Or look harder on finding ppl here on the forums who also live in your area. Or lastly maybe just don't have any friends. Be a loner, like me, wear black and scare off anyone who pisses you off. I was fine with it *starts cutting his wrists* ........or not

I'm sry...thats all i could think of.

go on limewire, or kazaa, download one of them tenshi butterfly tricks, a backflip, or any1 crip walk'n on the pads, show ur friends, they will love the game.
make them play it! bring em to the arcade and have em play, i dint like the game till i tried.. i felt relly hipocritical too cause b4 i even played i said it was gay, now im obsessed..

Although you had good ideas celestial none work, iv already showed my friends crip walk, ill never stop ddr from them, and I do have friends many infact but i want one who plays ddr and dosnt gimme poopy for playing it if he dosnt. I am not a goth and look down apon them and dont want to scare away my own friends haha. cutting wrists is lame.

As for the other dude my gram lives in Lincoln NH. ALso i made fun of it to b4 I started playing and became obsessed.

same sort of thing happened to me & my friend. we had just started playing DDR & my frined's bro was all like "dude, that is sooo gay" so one day he told his bro to try & he ended up liking it. & now one of our friends is saying the same thing, so when he comes down from NC we gonna get him to play. it seems to me, a lot of ppl think it is gay until they play it.... go figure

DDR is supposed to be a community...not a game...nonetheless...I don't have any friends at school who play DDR, and also do the same thing. I also play DDR out of state so all my good friends are actually the people I play with. Forget about it yo. Don't worry. Bi-tch slap em and go on! That's what I do!
