i wouldnt call it pathetic, but it just goes to show that not too many people play ddr in your area. Rhythm & Police does look hard if you have never played before. You gotta go and spread the word, get other people into ddr too!!

It varies place to place I suppose. The arcade I frequent to has a heavy population of DDR players, and the watchers dont even respond to anyone on light mode dancing.

don't feel bad. I stomp at the ice arena, and all I get are hockey moms and coaches... they don't even bat an eye at my hardest Heavies, and my best routines!... Maybe that says more about my skillz than my arcade community erm.gif

Here, it's like that. Since alot of people have tried it, and didn't do well, if you last more than 30 seconds in a song, and do it smoothly, you're probably gonna get a croud (I'm talking about the acrades near me). So I do a 6 footer and they go wild....

Hmm I think it depends on who goes to the arcade. If it's some where like chuck e cheese then people there probably can't play all that well and are easily impressed but if it's somewhere that a lot of DDR players go that are good they're not going to be wooed by light mode I guess.

Yeah, this is true, but there are alot of nice DDR players and they might say 'good job' or congradulate you in some way or another....

Yeah very true. The arcade I go to (Which I haven't been to for a good while. disgust.gif ) doesn't have too many DDR players, really experienced that is. If there was someone who was a Maniac they aren't THAT impressive, just enough for me to say wow I want to be on Maniac too.. And then there's like no FS around here either, So all I get as attention goes are (Dont get me wrong but there's A LOT of mexicans here.) are preps from the cumminity college here that poke fun and families that just don't understand the game to give a smile or frown.

And that my friends...is the End of the Universe...

hmm then I think your community of DDR players is better than mine. No one's ever congragulated me even when I've AA crap. I just get the wow she's pretty good but know one really ever says wow good job or anything.

My Community (here in Spotsylvania) isn't really big on DDR. We have an old USA Mix, but I've never been to it. I did go up to some mall once and they had a DDR mix in Vans Skatepark (I forgot the mix). I got an alright sized crowd there on Trick mode. Eh, then I fell off the machine head first.

Tip for being respected: DON'T Fall off the machine. People will laugh.. Injury is possible.

Of course injury is possible. It only says that on one of DDR's warning screens...

I have an interesting community. The people where I live are pretty good at DDR. We don't necessarily get huge crowds, but sometimes, we have discussions about the game on the sidelines. Like when you know all the lyrics to each song is a good time to give it a rest, and poopy like that...
