At Stepmania and DWI that is, don't get any ideas...

Anyways, do you prefer 1 or 2 hand playing?

I prefer 2 hands, because I can do shuffles and air running easily. It aslo helps me play faster.

I was looking at some forums a while ago, and Arch0wl said he used his 2 pointer fingers. Then I watched his videos of arrow tapping. Thanks to him, I also use this method. I've improved my grades and FC'd a lot more songs.

And that is why 2 hands are better than one. What do you play with?

well lets see. i use one hand and i struggle because a lot of the songs out there are insanely hard and in the beginning i thought that those were just a bunch of arrows which someone didnt want to organize lol. But like i was saying, i use one hand. index, middle, ring finger on my right hand.
i cant do all songs from official mixes and stuff and i can do some originals which are like 11 or 12 feet but thats it. things like Reality or quasar are just not in my capabilites list. so what im trying to say is that its better to play with two hands but i play with one lol

I use one hand... I agree it is harder with one, but that's why I need to teach myself to use 2 E1.gif

well I play with one hand and have tried to play with 2 but have a hard time figuring out which notes to hit with what finger. I agree that playing with 2 hands can make it easier but it dosen't seem to help me (but I suck anyway). I also want to say "Lets not start a flame war over which style of playing is better."

Yes. Stupid flamewars about stupid things are bad, m'kay?

I believe two-handed play is much easier than one. I've AA'ed a lot of 10's, and harder, with only one hand, but using two is just so much faster.

Personally, I mainly use my pointer fingers. But, for super-fast/confusing crossovers and confusing freeze patterns, I tend to throw a middle finger in there, somewhere.

I would highly suggest not playing with four fingers, as it gets WAY too confusing at times.

Just my two cents.

I'm just starting to play with two hands because it is easier to hit arrows faster and it is MUCH easier to do air. I find, however, that its easier to keep a beat with one hand as of now, although I'm pretty confident that's because I'm just starting with the whole two hands thing.

I use two hands. A friend of mine uses one but with two fingers. She is like how do you play ddr then play SM. It's not like you have 4 feet. I need to show her how easy 2 hands is. :-p

Yeah, the trick with two hands is to never have more than two fingers on the keys at any time. What's also good is learning how to slide one finger over two, or more, keys at a time. You can hit really fast combinations of DURL in a 1/32nd pattern, or a 1/16th pattern at over 300bpm easily with marvelous-attack.

I've had people ask me the same question (DDR to SM). They just don't know how easy it is.

Besides, it's not like I need more than two feet to play DDR. It's all in how fast you read and how fast you move...for both.

I personally use 4 fingers over DFJK on the keyboard. I've been told it's cheating, but then again, it's not DDR, it's a simulation, and I'm using it to get my accuracy up. 4 Fingers or 2, I'm still learning to nail all Marvelous (I use Stepmania), besides, I personally think 4 fingers is more fun, you just need to get used to a system of typing.

I use my two index fingers also. I try to use one hand on easier songs though. For crossover which go RDL or LDR from playing ddr my natural tendency would be to reach over and use alternating hands, but becuz they are in a straight line i force myself to use one hand.

Definitely two hands are better than one. With one hand you just don't have the speed that you do with two. Plus I play piano and using two hands seems to remind me playing it. Most of the dwi's i make are classical piano pieces.

I play Keyboard only songs with an index finger on each hand, and DDR songs with my right hand, using my index and middle finger.

i use both index fingers on the directional arrow keys. The same is true for doubles, its the best way to go (my doubles keys are home, end, pgd pgup and / 7, 8, and 9)

i use two hands; 3 fingers on each hand (middle, index, and fake flipper E15.gif ) but i only use one finger at a time on each one so it is as if i'm using my feet. i think it has helped my normal ddr playing because i learned to cross over first with the keyboard then with my feet.

I use 2 hands, using any finger thats available to reach the arrow. I would even use my pinky (If every other finger was tied up.) I can go pretty fast to songs too, but it just depends i guess on the steps.
