Ok i think it'd be cool if there was a ddr/bemani convention (if there isnt 1 ive neva heard of 1 ) but think massive tournys and people playin DDR hours on end ahh it'd be great wat would u guys think if there was a DDR con? and would u go?

Heh, metrocon's coming up in tampa...it may be an animé convention, but they're having DDR tournaments every day....which i'm planning to attend atleast one of the tournies (first tourney, wish me luck...even though i know i'm gonna lose). But as for a pure ddr/bemani convention...that would be pretty sweet... heh, i could imagine it now...just passing a ddr tourney, just to have only 15 minutes to rest for the next beatmaniax tournament, only for it to be followed by that para para competition that you wanted to give a shot..... now that would be a trip

I love the idea of having an all Konami/Bemani con. However, anime cons have horrible problems with smelly, stinky otaku roaming the con events. Could anyone even imagine the smell and funk from a con where most attendees are sweating and stinking and encouraged to do nothing but play Bemani type games.

Aside from the odor issues, I think this would be a wonderful idea if it ever sees the light of day. Maybe have Odor Eaters and Right Guard as sponsors

i can see what u mean but we could jus have people jump in a pool evry so often to get sweat off em and if it happened at a hotel even betta man this makes me wanna set 1 up lol too bad theres no money to do it but maybe if we start a online charity to makin 1 and we post on all the bemani forums and struff and get a ton of people to even donate a couple of bux to it ohh i can only imagine

as much as the idea of a DDR convention might sound, it probably wouldn't be hugely successful. you definitely wouldn't get the kinds of people that you get for anime conventions. it'd be fun, but it'd be a small con. if it was a Bemani convention, it would be a bit more successful, but it would still never reach the proportions of an anime convention. as long as that's understood, it's a great idea and would be lots of fun for those involved.

well even if 1 happened i wouldnt plan to make it a BIG convention like that 1 huge anime cone (was it comicon i dk ) but id be happy if 1 happened and it hit 100 and jus have people bring there DDR equip there hopefully rent a couple machines or somethin i mean i dk if this ever would happen but hey it'd be cool none the less

I like the idea of a DDRcon being held. although I think I like the idea of a Bemani con. better. Only because it would be easier with all of the different games that they've made. However, a convention holding all of the current and upcoming beat/rythem/music games would be easier, and to say the least, bigger.

So that's my opinion....

man seriously i would do all i could to help set this up but ya know theres so much a 14 year old can do but hey if anyone wants to ty and make this a reality more powa to ya and id help as much as i could.

And yeah this would be a Bemani con not a DDR con for a wider audience and more stuff i mean you can only play DDR so much till ur bored. as in 8 hours straight i know myself would wana move on afta that

But seriously if DDR freak did start i think it'd be a profitable con cause all they do is have people bring there own DDR/Bemani setups and play sorta like wat ud do in a LAN party evryone brings a comp. Then they jus rent a couple of machines for tournys. As 1 person already pointed out it would reak though lol i cant even immagin the stench. oh well im sure evryone would get used to it eventually .

Sorry to spoil you kids' fun, but it's just not going to happen. Interest in DDR/Bemani may be fairly significant throughout the country, but good luck getting everyone to come together in a centralized location. Just be happy with anime cons...Bemani always has a strong showing at those.

Something like this could work out. It would have to start small and progress from there. After all, even anime cons started small. It takes exposure to get the word out there.

In all reality it would probably be more work than it's worth, but it would still be a welcome event to me if it worked out. To me it seems like most people would be content just playing at their local arcades/home and participating in local tourney's.
