Ok, I have a PS-->USB Connector. I assigned the left key to the left arrow, right key to right arrow, and so on, so that the arrows all correspond with their respective function. However, you cannot do Up and Down or Left and Right Simultaneously. I checked on the Stepmania official page and it says "it can be solved by turning on the option "Ignore Joy Axes" on the Input Options screen". However, there ISN'T an 'Ignore Joy Axes' button on the Input Options screen. I do have the must up to date version of SM. If anyone knows where I can find this option, or another way to fix it, that would be great. Thanks! |

Options > Input Options.
However, this problem won't be solved if the converter is not compatible with stepmania.
Example... EMS 2 = working converter _________________

Yeah, I've been to the input options screen. Nothing there. Thanks anyway, though! |

few things you can try. before I tell you, understand that all new versions of SM (I think from alpha 5 on) are automatically set to ignore joy axis. my guess is you are using an adapter that requires a button press code to be set in dance pad mode. open up game controllers from the control pannel and select your adapter. it should be the only one listed unless it is a two player adapter, then there will be two of the same...pick the one that your pad is plugged into. step on an arrow and it should indicate that your pad is registering that as a direction. now try holding UP+START+SELECT for 3 seconds or so. release that and press an arrow. now it should register as a direction and a button. go into stepmania and remap your pad. if that doesn't work, then your adapter is incompatible. |
