A couple of good friends of mine own a dmx 2nd mix, and having been bored with the game, they decided to hack stepmania into their cabinet and leave the existing ddr/sm file/itg steps (freezes included), and play them..we have two videos:

big one (50mb) and
the small one (17ish mb). Help w/ hosting would be much appreciated. :-D

The videos were taken with a digital camera that doesn't have a microphone. The videos DO have sound. We spliced the songs on top of the visual of the pattern that's being played. The first is Banana Phone by Raffi (Blarg, the person playing made it), and the second is Delirium Hard (From ITG if you didn't know).

As you can see, the graphics are pretty lame. This is all the photoshop skill that we as a group possess. If anyone wants to make better, more realistic doughnuts, or enhance the skin (OMG, DMX is confusing without lanes), we'd be honored. The eventual goal is to have a complete DMX hack that doesn't look like SM (unique, original, you get the idea). This would involve announcers, graphics, menus, everything. Also, if anyone has access to a 2nd Mix Append JParadise, we don't. Having those around would be fantastic as well. :-) If you have any interest in any of the above areas, just pm me... That's so fucking bad azz. I like how there's a grading system. I don't mind the missing lanes.

My only thing is, why have double freezes? I'd like to see something where you hold one freeze while slashing other notes that are coming up. Or, you're holding your left knee on a low left note freeze, while slashing the other three sensors. That'd be some crazy shit.

Let us know how this comes along. I'd love to go up there and play it.

That's very nice. I'd love to do that to our DMX machine but I doubt I'll try it.

This is a great idea... There is really no other way to say this, so "mad props"!

P.S. I'm not the best photochopper in the world, but I know how to use it... and I'm definitly not terrible. I haven't, however, seen much of dance maniax so I don't know the skins too well... But if there is anything you want me to do, just pm me. I'd be flattered to help you out with this.

Whoa, that was tight. I wonder if you guys have experimented on trying to put "freeze notes" on it? That'd be challenging for sure. You guys should try doing Center and Doubles as well. It's gonna be twice the challenge and twice the bruises.

All of the videos so far have shown freezes. lol.

Double is fun. Center isn't doable yet because we don't have a way to set it up in SM without remapping controls every time we go in to do it.

Oops. Sorry, I didn't get to see 'em all. But the freeze notes were nice, indeed. Except for Queen of Light in where you've to use all of the sensors and freeze notes at the same time. It's not the difficulty that I didn't like, but it's the sense and feel of the song.
