I previously described that there were two Party modes on Ultramix 2: Bomb mode and Attack mode. After playing it some more at E3, we've figured out some more details.

Attack mode works by trying to move the opponent's topmost arrows toward the bottom of the screen. As it moves down, it becomes noticeably harder (sort of like Sudden mode), and if it reaches the bottom of the screen, you lose.

By getting a +5 dance points combo (perfect = +2, great = +1) on the various arrows representing different functions (e.g., Left = Fire, Down = Lightning, Up = Heart, Right = Star), you can do different things to your arrows or your opponent's arrows. For example, if you successfully get 3 perfects on "lightning", or down arrow, your opponent's arrows will drop down a level. If you do the same thing on "heart", or the up arrow, your own arrows will go up. Once your opponent gives you enough "lightning" to move your arrows all the way down the screen, the battle is over and you lose.

Um, Ultramix is its own CD, it's not like an "append" CD.

...Come to think of it, none of the DDR mixes have really had that.

Okay, Append was the only one. I don't count those though, it was the DC, and nobody played those anyway. E10.gif

I have a video of what it looks like. Because this is my backup server (main one went out of bandwidth) I'd appreciate a mirror. Grab the 50 second video here. (6 megs, MJpeg)

I think JDogg won this one, he was on the left against VxJasonxV. biggrin.gif

ps EBT I haven't touched a home version disc - let alone the appends - in almost a year now.

If I recall, you could load up all the 2nd mix songs onto 3rd mix on the japonese ps1. Kinda like disk swapping, but the 2nd mix songs were all on the 3rd mix engine still.
