I've been told by a nurse yesterday that it's likely I have a hernia. Now I have two major questions. I've had the discomfort for a week, I'm seeing a specialist tomorrow... but of course he will know poopy about the best game ever.
Is it possible I got this Hernia from DDR?
Should I avoid DDR for a while because of this?
I know it's supposed to be some sort of weight thing normally. (It's the groin region I forget the special name and I'm sure most of you don't know/care the official name)
anyone have any experience with hernia's and DDR? I just bought Metal Pads for home use and I don't wantto all of a sudden never be able to play again.
(Btw I've been playing for 6 monthes at home on soft pads, and am really getting good, I'd hate to lose it all now.) |

it's probably not from ddr. the muscles you use to give yourself an inguinal hernia are different than the kind you use to stomp on stuff. is there anything else you've been doing that could have caused it? things like weightlifting and moving furniture are obvious but other stress on the abdominal region can do it to you. i would reccomend taking a break from DDR while you recover from surgery, but once the hernia's gone you should be ok. _________________

Yeah that's the name ingenial.. Thanks.
I was just worried that I caused this from that. I don't know where i got it from..
The other question is until the actual surgery happensshould I take off from DDR, I'll ask my doctor this too, but I kinda want to keep playing, I miss it alot more then I thought. I promised I'd hold off til I talked to him which is tommorow. Would pushing myself on DDR? (I can do 6s easily, would trying to do 8s (I can do some but not all 7s) injure this further.)
Anyways thanks again I appreciate input always. And btw if anyone cares, no I'm not in any pain it is just a small bump and a tiny amount of discomfort if I touch it. |

Since the doctor won't know what DDR is, tell him you do high-impact cardio workouts, and see if thinks you should take a break from that. |
