Listen carefully everyone. As you may or may not be aware, I am buddies with thomas Howard Lichtenstein of Konami fame. Recently, we've tossed the idea around of him coming to the states in October to perform a concert at MAGfest (www.magfest.org) This idea is ENTIRELY possible and will be the first of it's kind in the US. With my rock band that you've all heard samples of our bemani rock covers, we're also gonna back THL up on stage. This means that you will hear the rock versions of the bemani music live. And to push the whole thing into the spotlight, Thomas is willing to perform all of his bemani hits!! These hits include Silent Hill, La Senorita, Ballad For You, Out Of Breath, Heaven Is A 57 Metallic Grey, etc.. There is just a small problem with this whole setup:
HE NEEDS MONEY TO GET HERE!! Incase you weren't aware, it's a VERY expensive flight to get him here. I am willing to fork a couple hundred dollars into this pot because I'll be picking him up and driving him around. Brandon, who is the owner of MAGfest is also willing to throw money into this pot, but we need to get roughly 2 thousand dollars together to make it worth his while to come out. He has already been VERY generous in reducing his costs by a couple grand. I mean..afterall, he's got a family and 2 daughters to provide for. The first grand out of the 2 we're trying to raise will buy his roundtrip from Osaka to BWI and back, and the second is for his efforts and troubles.
OK..so here's the rundown.
I'm not promising anything yet, but who here would donate a little bit of money to our pot? Between Brandon and I..we can come close to a thousand...I think..or rather...I hope. But if people are willing to donate some paypal or somtehing, even a couple dollars, then we can probably get him here. He will also be performing with me, on a side note for the few DJ Potatoe fans out there. But anyways, if you think you'd wanna chip in for the Bemani concert of the year, then please do. If you have any comments, questions or suggestion, feel free to post them here.
Remember...NO PROMISES as of yet, but Tom coming is a very real possibility. Now you know, and knowing is half the battle.
