My friend said the timing for perfects, greats, goods, etc. is different on ultramix. Is this true?, and also, what is the timing you can be off by to get certin arrows, like, how many 32nds away can you be to still get a perfect. |

I've heard that Ultramix uses a different timing system, but I've never played it to be sure. What you're referring to is the perfect window (the time period between a perfect and a great) and its slightly different on all the different arcade mixes. DDRMAX2's window is notoriously small. _________________

are you sure it's different on al of them, because it would be really annoying if you were trying to compare scores with your friends or peers, but couldn't, because you were playing on a different mix.
And i'm not so sure that the perfect window is that small on max 2 at least, because i got my first sdg on kind lady on max, and i get around the same perfect/great ratio on max2. |

I've compared the 30fps 4th Mix Plus to a 60fps Max2 and there IS a difference. Just like you normally do. The window on MAX and up are tighter than any mix below. All I can say is just try to hit the center of the perfect area and you're fine. _________________

A lot of songs in ultramix seem very off in terms of timing. That or it's perfect window is extremely small. _________________

I'm sure if it was sold for profit, Konami would clamp down on it (I'm sure it's a matter of time before they clamp down on ITG).[/quote]

Its not that different where its going to make a difference between an A on one machine and an AA on another, but its in general agreement that not all perfect windows are created equal. _________________

my real inquiry, is the difference between perfects and greats, and goods and greats. The reason being that we kinda compete, and he says he got two sdg's on ultramix, and 5 misses on max, but what if it's easier to get perfects (although sines point to no), or if it's easier to get greats instead of goods, then it gives him a big advantage |

I'm not sure about the perfect windows, but I am positive that the Ultramix great window is huge compared to any other game. I'm not sure specifically how much bigger it is, but it is marginally bigger. I'm not sure if this makes the perfect window smaller or the good/boo/miss(or whatever they are on ultramix) smaller...or both |
