I'm using the latest version of Dance with Intensity. I have a Crazy Dance III dancepad which has a parallel cable built into it. I installed DirectPad, and now the controller works according to the diagnostics program.

But when I go into DWI, I can't seem to map any of the four arrow keys. I can map the X, O Triangle, Square, Start and Select buttons, but unless I'm playing a game of four panel Pump it UP, it doesn't do me much good. E1.gif

The Crazy Dance III has lights on the 'control unit' of the pad, that indicate that a button is being pressed, and they all show up fine.

I can't use Stepmania, because my laptop doesn't work well enough to run it. (Graphics card)

Any ideas?

The only thing I can think of, and I could be wrong, is that the directional buttons are mapped as X and Y axes. To play DDR properly, you have to have up, down, left, and right mapped as actual buttons, not as movement axes (you know, so you can jump on left and right at the same time, for example).

Does the Windows Control Panel show the directionals as individual buttons, or on a graph?

Maybe that's what's keeping the directions from registering. I'm not sure if there's any way to change it, since it usually depends on how the controller/pad/converter is wired. However, I have a couple emulators (ZSNES comes to mind, just for example) that turn every controller signal into a button, even when other programs recognize it as an axis. I dunno. Sorry I don't have a solution, but maybe that shed some light on it.

I am using a PS2 to USB converter to connect my pad to my PC. I have the same issue. I was wondering if anyone can tell me how to remap my buttons so that the UP, DOWN, LEFT, and RIGHT of the digital control D-pad become the X, O, Triangle, and Square buttons instead so that I can actually use my dance pad in DWI. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
