Hehe. I'm just glad that the newer/est version of Stepmania had the No Jumps feature.

You see, when my dad got this game for me 3 months ago, the ignorant bastard that he is kept calling it the "Jumping" game. There are jumps but I don't play songs with that many jumps, and I don't stomp when I do so.

So recently, I got stepmania in the living room, working with a dance pad and all [prior to a week ago, I played Ultramix on Xbox]. I made a Big, Shuffle, Nonstop course that I fell in love with [even though I can pass Cata's and what not], and I also gave it the no jump option. Its really good for showing off, or a warm up song. Anyway, so I wanted to play it now, but my dad's watching baseball. Well, he isn't really watching, he's listening while he plays Mr. Do on his computer with an Xbox controller, and I asked if he was using the TV, because it looked like he wasn't. He immediately accused me of wanting to play DDR, going "Why?! You wanna play the jumping game?!".

I quickly reply: "No, I wanna play Dance Dance Revolution. I took OFF the jumps!". He just stared at me in disbelief for half a minute, then turned to his computer and muttered "The game's almost over..." and shut up.

Summary: Dad calls DDR the 'Jumping Game'. I point out that I took off jumps. Made dad look stupid.

that's exactly what my parents call it too actually. I tried to tell my father to call it DDR at one point, to which he responds "I don't like acronyms"
