|
|
The more and more Bemani music I listen to it becomes clear that the most talented singer in Bemani has to be Sana. Every single I listen to by her, even if I find it extremely boring, I can't help but to find her voice incredible. Lots of the other girls in Bemani seem to possess some sense of time and can screech really loud (See Tomomi and BeForU in a lot of their songs), but Sana rarely if ever resorts to that and actually sings. The fact that shes got 3 albums of just her should say something also.
The worst voice in Bemani that I can think of off the top of my head has to be Paula Terry. Repetitive and cant sing. End of story. _________________

Best is definately Lala Moore/Noriko Fukushima. She is my absolute favorite vocalist.
Sana's pretty good, but not always that good. I get sick of her a lot.
Cathy Lau and Maki are also some of my favorites.
Migiteru Osamu/positive MA/D-Crew/MTO/Des-Row's voice can get grating sometimes. I love his songs, but he should really just stop singing. |

I've grown rather fond of Kunitake Miyuki lately. Sana, well, she's always been the best vocalist around, with Megumi pretty close behind. And, ever since Taka got a hold of her, Noria's been getting ever increasingly better.
Speaking of Taka, he really needs to some vocal songs for GF/DM sometime. Go listen to Late Riser or Memories, and you'll probably agree. A good-cool featuring Taka and Hideo Suwa (even though the two of them sound COMPLETELY different) track would make me die from the awesomeness.
Thomas Howard. Can't get enough of Thomas Howard.
And don't knock Paula Terry so easily. Yes, her songs in DDR with Naoki are the crap (Broken My Heart? wtf?), but the ones she's done for other Bemani are pretty good (Can't Hurry Love, Drivin', L'amour et La Liberte).
THe only real artist I don't like is Kosaka Riyu. I find her (Naoki's) music a bit on the generic side. That and I've heard Love^2 Shine too damn much. |

Taka vocals=sucks (no one I know can tolerate it either, IMHO, he kinda ruined Memories)
Maki is OK now, I used to hate her (mainly because she ruined the cover of one of my favorite ELT songs on GF5/DM4~).
I prefer Kunitake Miyuki, Orange Noise Shortcut, Shizue (Orange Lounge), and Kiyommy (Natural Bear), and whoever did the vocals for Moment (BM Club Mix). _________________

Paula Terry has got to be the worst female vocalist, personally.
As far as male vocalists...god I hate Jeffe Coote.
Sana, Riyu Kosaka, Noria, Meg, and ric/riewo are probably my favorite female vocalists.
There are male vocalists on IIDX? Uhh...the guy from Empathy...Electro Tuned, and umm, Schlagwerk -Terror Mix-.

Sana for sure. And I love The Place To Be, the one on Vocal Best 7, so Megumi gets a vote too. Is Cathy Lau a Bemani-only vocalist?
Des-Row needs to stop singing, seriously. He puts together some awesome music, but the voice...
Taka sings awesomely. Late Riser is my pick for the Pop'n song that absolutely belongs in GF/DM. I'd so love that main guitar riff on GF. _________________

Sana is awesome. Yuki (Aoi Shoudou) was pretty good. I can't stand Paula Terry, though. Every song with Paula Terry in it sucks. All of the Paula songs sound exactly the same. _________________

My favorites? Lets see...
Kosaka Riyu; INCREDIBLE, when she wants to be. Lifeless, Candy Heart (both versions), Glacial (Album Version), Begin (Album Version), True ~Trance Sunrise Mix, Love Shine, and Dive to the Night (TERRA WORKS remix) are very fun to listen to. On the other hand, when she sucks, she's painful to listen to. Shining (unplugged version), and Song For You made my ears bleed.
Noria; Better than Riyu when she's at her best (Tears, Shining, and Glorious Days, anyone?). At other times, she's just plain annoying. I'm all for bouncy, sugary music, but Silvia Drive and Baby love just don't cut it.
BeForU; They gave us DIVE! And Firefly. And Graduation ~Unplugged Version~. Much love.
Miyuki Kunitake; Destiny Lovers, Aoi Shadou, Kiss Me All Night Long, Home Girl, and her awesome cover of Depend on You are all great songs to play and to listen to. She needs a bloody CD already.
jun; TERRA rocks. 'Nuff said.
Sana; She's awesome sometimes, and boring at other times. I still love her, though.
Paula Terry; Mediocre for the most part. Awesome at times (i feel..., L'amour) and awful when she sucks (Love again tonight, E-Mail me).
Jenny ROM; Okay in small doses. Annoying after long periods of time, though. |

I really like Yoma, even though she only has one solo song. =(
I don't like Riyu that much, i mean, look at her solo cd, all it is is rehashed bemani songs with new lyrics. :/ _________________

Aoi Shodou is def. not Miu, I don't remember Home Girl being covered by her either, might have to take a second listen to though (can't stand the song).

There is no doubt in my mind that the worst Bemani singer is Akino. One Seek makes my ears bleed violently...Cradle is tolerable, but that's just because the song is good enough to overcome the bad vocals.
And I actually like Osamu Migitera's voice...it's not "good" per se, but it seems to fit his songs. _________________
