Drivers for xbox pad

I bought a metal pad off the net (a no name one) and it has both PS2 and XBox output coming out of the breakaway box. I have an XBox adaptor that I want to use, but windows xp either doesn't recoginze it as anything at all, or thinks its a generic usb hub. I tried assigning the drivers from my xbox controller, but it didn't take. Does anyone know where I can get some proper drivers for it? Can I use one from a PS2 adaptor (I don't have one but it was just a thought)? Do I need to switch to a PS2 adaptor? Will I stop asking a bunch of questions?

Anyway, if anyone has answers that would be cool.

I have the same problem. I have an Xbox pad and adapter, but I want a driver that can disable joy axes, or can map directional pads or joysticks to buttons. Any programs? Thanks in advance...
