Ok, I have a DDR Level Six pad that i fried the electronics on and need to replace them with the offical Konami softpad electronics (it came with UltraMix for Xbox). Both the pad and the control unit use a kind of carbon looking connection that was originally taped on and pressure fit. This wont work with how i have to mod it, so i need to find a way to connect the two surfaces. Will solder stick to these? If not, could i use conductive glue to connect them together? here is a picture of the overall connector:

and a close up of one side of the connector:

Any Suggestions?

Solder won't stick to those, but if the traces line up with the Konami pad contacts, you could probably just tape it into place. They won't move around at all once the circuit housing is reassembled.

If the traces don't line up, you might be able to cut between them to make them a little more flexible and line them up individually, again using tape to secure them.

If you want a perfect trace/contact match-up, you could etch your own circuit board to match the traces and use that custom board to then solder wires between the Konami board and your custom daughter board. Don't know how much space in the housing that would take up, though.

You're tempting fate if you cut the plastic; if you go that route, reinforce the cut part with tape.

I'd recommend soldering some lead wires to the new board, with the other ends taped on to the appropriate positions on the plastic sheet (with a fair amount of insulation stripped off for a better contact).

Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestions, I took another look at it and decided the easiest way was to use jumper wires. After cutting 12 jumper wires, i used electrical tape to connect it all up. Works great now, an awesome pad with the awesome electronics from the original konami pad! I bet it would even show up as a pad on live now! Again thanks for the suggestions!
