Stepmania sometimes out of sync

ive been playing stepmania for a couple of months now to no problems but recently i have had some lag mid song (i.e. i press a key and it takes 2 - 5 seconds for it to register) this happens mostly on songs with speed changes.. but it does with songs that dont have speed changes...

for a note

i have re-downloaded new songs
reinstalled and reinstalled to a different directory
closed down all other applications
disabled the announcer
put it into the lowest graphic setting possible

all these have made no difference

can anoyone help me please

Maybe you should just delete that one, and redownload it?

You may also check on certain simfile folders if there are any unnecessary files (like 2 mp3s, additional backgrounds/banners, etc.). Usually, that's the cause for that. Also, you may wanna check on your hardware as well.

Anyways, it's better off downloading the latest Stepmania (A13). Those fix a LOT of problems.
