The first time you played DDR, did you expect to be into it like you are today? I mean i woulda never guessed I'd be able to do 10-footers but I am....

When I first started Which was a long time ago I always dreamed of beating on all of the mean teenagers that made fun of me. Well I can beat all that I can remember... Now all I need to do is become a DDR legand! (which might take a while)

Hell, I rememeber when I was comfortable on catas and I still thought I would never pass a 10 footer. Funny how friends betting you money seems to change the equation.

When I first started DDR I was horrible (I mean I wasn't able to pass BBGYL on light laugh.gif ). I didn't really like it because everyone was better than me but then I kept practicing and now it's my obsession E4.gif

I saw it and knew I'd be playing it for a long while. Getting good at the game (or at least not sucking E13.gif ) just goes with the territory of playing it a lot.

About a year ago, I first saw a girl playing DDR in Flordia and thought it was the coolest thing ever.

A few months later I tried in an arcade and never thought I'd be able to do Heavy songs. I also saw a few players around here who were, and still are, amazing. I always looked up to them, still do in fact, but mainly stayed in the shadows until NO ONE was around.

Now, about 4 months later after I started playing in the arcade I can do heavy songs. But I never EVER imagined I'd be able to a year ago ... I didn't even think i'd ever see the game again. E15.gif

When I first started....
I was so bad, that I failed Upside down in basic (Back then it was basic) and Silent Hill in basic also. I would always envy the people who played in Trick (Standard) and Maniac. I would've never thought I would be playing songs like Dead End in Maniac and 10-footers. It's funny, this game is so addicting and makes you want to do better. I love DDR!!!!!!!

I didn't even think about that when I first saw it. all I really cared about was just playing the game. I never even thought about how good I could get. at the beginning at least.

I took DDR one step at a time... my plan was to play until I reached a dead end of my skill... well I haven't really reached one yet, all that has happened are large road blocks, but easily passed with lots of practice

I got through light and most of standard quickly, but never thought i'd get through heavy. well I took it one song at a time and got through most of the 7-8 footers, but was having a tough time with crossovers... and for a few months I tried my darndest to beat songs with them in it... one day it suddenly clicked and I was able to do them. My next step is stamina and speed for the Max's. I can beat them, but I only get C's and look like a fool in the process. Pretty soon my next stop will be to get AA's on them! Then SDG!! yea I have lots to go

the first time i ever saw ddr i told my girlfriend, "there's no way in hell you'll ever make me play that, i'm so clumsy it's not even fair"...so like a good girlfriend, she DEMANDED that i try it, so i did, and i passed nights of fire on a home pad on disney's rave (back in fall 01)..back then, i never thought i'd still be playing over 2 years later, and have beaten 10 foot songs and go to tourneys..and i had no idea that i'd make some of my best friends all because i had a pushy girlfriend who told me to play a dancing game one day... First days of DDR played behind closed and locked doors. Fond memory of "how does anyone keep up with this? (Cutie Chaser light)". Took 3 weeks to get through lesson mode, though had played the game during that time more often. Remember struggling through 1 footers. Having that "wtf?" look on my face when first encountering 1/8th notes.

I hope the above shows why I didn't start in the arcade first E13.gif
