I've now had BMIIDX 6th Style for now, some good time, 6 or seven months. good fun.

Anyways, I have a flip lid. And I always boot up my game that way.
Today, I looked at the disc, "Oh, theres some scratches on the disc, better get my disc doctor and fix those" (NOTE: MY DISC DOCTOR HAS NEVER RUINED A DISC) So I put it in the DD and it looks good. I boot up my boot disc and put in 6th Style. And it gives me the blue bar "GOOD DISC" sign. Then the screen goes black and doesnt boot up.
I cleaned it 2 more times with the DD. Still Nothing.

Is there anyway to fix this, or am I out of $70.
I can't afford a new 6th Style.

Please, I need help.
I want too play IIDX right now!

Awww man that sucks. The game doctor helped out my 3rd style. I noticed that it left a whole bunch of streaks on the disc, but it worked perfectly so i didnt care about it. The problem could be that the game doctor made the disc unreadable by your ps2. I would try another ps2 before chucking it.

The disc doctor works by shaving a small layer off of the disc. This sometimes can damage dvds (I don't know why) and if you do it on Dreamcast games, it'll make them unplayable.

I've gotten DC games and PS2 DVD games back from customers telling me that they bought the game used, noticed that it had some scratches and disc doctored it, and it ended up not even loading pass the 'LOADING...' screen or title screen.

Try toothpaste. Seriously. The mild abrasion can work wonders. My 6th Style was having a few issues with V, but now it's fine.

You'll need some lint-free CD cleaning tissues, or lotion-free toilet paper if you can't find any of those. Put some toothpaste on the tissue, and buff directly outward and inward from the center of the disc. Apply more paste as necessary. When you've covered the whole disc, clean it all off with some isopropyl alcohol.

This is kind of messy, and rather tedious, but I've had it work great.

If you're using the Doctor device, make SURE to buff the disc afterwards, following the instructions carefully. Be sure to apply sufficient pressure.

...yeah, it ruined a Ridge Racer V of mine back in the day =(

Oh, and btw, you can buy a special wheel for Dreamcast games, and then it'll work on them just as well as other discs.

I've noticed Deadline skips on my 5th style, and I looked at the disc and noticed a couple of scratches... should I get a disc doctor and try to fix it, or would it be a waste of money?

Comment te dire adieu freezes my 6th Style. And the weird thing? I've checked the disc and it's PERFECT. No smudges, no scratches, not even dust or hair is evident. It looks brand-new. The song worked before, but when I went to play it yesterday, it wouldn't start (tried several times on multiple difficulties).

I'm slightly annoyed at this.

For what its worth, he actually doctored that 3rd Style before selling it to me on ddrfreak's marketplace. And it still works perfectly! E1.gif Yeah, it left marks, but all of the songs that used to be unplayable ( I think he mentioned Luv To Me ( disco mix ) ) are still working and work everytime.

Although now I'm being really careful with my 3rd style because I don't think I'll be able to DVD doctor it if I mess it up.

I have the same problem with my 6th style disc. I have to boot it like 20 times before it actually gets to the title screen.
