DDR Extreme question...

Yo, I know this is probably a moot point, but is DDR Extreme considered 8th Mix? I was debating this with some guy on Game FAQs who has some issues with being accepted in real life since he likes to feel powerful, but hey, I'd still like to get some sort of statement to prove him wrong. I feel as though DDR Extreme is NOT 8th Mix.. Anyone know for sure?

It is definitely 8th mix. I can understand how you would get confused, because it has mostly songs from other mixes, but it does actually have a good number of songs exclusive to Extreme, therefore making in worthy of the Mix title.

That, and that everyone refers to it as 8th mix.

Ugh, but is there ANY proof of it being 8th Mix? Like has Konami ever made a statement saying that it is or is not?

Every DDR (save 1st and Max) has had previous songs on it.

I.e. Max2 has Max songs on it, and yet it is considered "7th mix."

Extreme has numerous songs from old mixes as well as new songs. It is the 8th mix in the series, and is named DDR Extreme.

Much like DDR Max was 6th Mix, and Max2 was 7th mix. Just because it isn't in the name doesn't mean it isn't accurate

In order it's not the 8th mix because of the Plus Mixes and Korean versions. However, it was the next mix after DDRMAX2 (which was officially named 7th mix).

Konami's official name for DDR Extreme is DDR Extreme. If you recall the "We are starting over", that might also be a factor into why they did not officially number this mix.

That said, if you said "8th Mix" to people in the DDR community, just about everyone would know what you're talking about.

although extreme is my fovorite mix i would say that it is more of an expansion mix like the other pluses since it takes a lot of songs from other mixes .......................but even so it has a lot of originals too like frozen ray , A,and the legend of max plus much much more ,but all im saying is that if it was an 8th mix wich it basiccally is it would just be called 8th mix and not extreme!

They should call it DDR alittle bit from every mix plus new songs mix.Nah..I geuss Extreme should do.Anyway I call it the 8th mix and every body who plays knows what it is.

I agree with Phrekwinsci pretty much. Chronologically, it's 8th, but Konami hasn't titled it that. But what you said, Spike, doesn't make sense, because if I'm not mistaken, the arcade release of DDRMAX (6th) only featured new songs. I'm only going by what's in the FAQ for it, though...

Wait, never mind, I missed that you mentioned that. Still though, if you want to use that point, DDR Extreme should be 7th...
