Well, I meant to post about this a long time ago, since this occured back in August, but I just got around to doing it cause I can get pretty lazy.

Who here has DDR'ed while at work (aside from those of you who work somewhere that owns a machine already) or at any place that you would normally not expect to do such a thing?

On my last day at a local bank before I went back to college, I promised my co-workers that I would bring in my PS2 and a TV to show them DDR. They knew what it was, but they really wanted to see me actually play. So, I brought in a Cobalt Flux, a TV, my modded PS2, and the Japanese 6th and 7th mixes with me. I came in early, and did Spin the Disc as a warmup. They already were shaking their heads and telling me they could never do this. Then, one co-worker of mine named Jose (he likes to crack smart-buttocks comments from time to time) said that's nothing, play something fast. So I put on Paranoia Survivor. Being that this was two months ago, and I wasn't warmed up, and I was in my work clothes, I didn't pass the song (died at the very end), but they didn't seem to mind. They pretty much greeted that performance with jaws on the floor. Jose, who I had bet that if he could beat my score I would pay $50, just said "Nevermind, I know you won."

At the end of the day, I played Exotic Ethnic and a couple other catas for them to see. All in all, it was a fun way to end a summer job, and hey, not many people can claim to work at a bank and have played DDR and gotten paid for it (I did some playing during my on-job hours).

One of the managers had brought her digital camera, and uploaded a couple pics to forward to the rest of the branches of the bank. We also printed those out, and I just scanned them in today. They're low quality since they're in black and white, but you get the idea.

Just click on this link, it brings you to a page with both pics on it:

Pic 2
Still on Spin the Disc. I look kinda funny in this pic, as my posture is worse than normal (I had to really crouch since the TV wasn't level with my eyes to begin with, and I'm a tall guy) and for some reason I'm holding a freeze arrow while standing on the balls of my feet. Man, I'm glad I dropped that technique I used to have.

Anyway, that's about it.

EDIT: Ok, made a page with the pics on them. Should work now.

Nice. I played at Best Buy once when they had a similar setup. Like you, I had to bend over a lot because they had a flat panel tv that was low down so it was impossible to see close up.

I tried Max300 on a soft pad that wasn't attached to the ground in any way. That was fun biggrin.gif
