My first time was June 29th, 2001, Flamingo Hilton in Vegas (Solo 2K)... Haven't seen another one since, but would like to (for nostalgia purposes).

The first time I played was at my best friend, Kelly's house. She had told me all about it and I had NO idea what it was. So, I went over there and played fourth mix, 1, 2, 3, 4, 007 was the song, to be exact. Yeah, I stood there half way through the song and just watched the arrows go by. I didn't understand that you have to put the moving arrows into the still arrows by using the corresponding arrows under my feet! laugh.gif

My first time. (That can be misinterpreted). Salina, KS. Silverball Arcade at the Central Mall. 3rd Mix. Can't remember what song, but it was on basic. Didn't know what in the good green world to do. Well, I knew I had to step on the panels, unlike Clover ( sarc.gif ). But I didn't know you had to wait till they get to the top. I just stepped off instead of failed. Also, I have never used the bar except for bar hops.

I also remember that after two months i thought i was really good for getting a AA on Dub-i-dub beginner laugh.gif

May 2001, in my basement when the first US PSX release of the game with the pad bundle came out.

First time playing in the arcade was July 2002 on the Ocean City, NJ boardwalk at Playland. It was 3rd Mix Korean 2 with the difficulty set all the way at 8. I picked Butterfly Upswing Mix and failed almost instantly.

April 1999: Koreatown, LA, CA! I heard about this place by looking at a magazine called Tips & Tricks (published by Larry Flynt. Ha!). One of the featurettes was the Token Of The Month which showed the token of Cyberzone Arcade in Koreatown. That was when I saw the DDR 1.5 mix machine out there. Tried the 1st song "Have You Ever Been Mellow"; didn't know what I was doing, and almost left the DDR scene for good. If it hadn't been for a player called Jenith (Bum Suk) who told me how to play the game, I would have given up on this game long time ago. And the rest was history! Is that a trip or what? Please reply, over! Thanks!

First time I actually played DDR was when I was at a skating rink. Awesome looking machine :P Anyway, I played and then failed, of course. Then some friends went on to play it, and since none of us were good, each person would take over an arrow, and step on it so that the song the could be passed, lol.

Then I played a different time at Time Out and accidently went to Oni Mode. Sadly, the left arrow scroll button didn't work so I was out of luck. Well, 3 seconds into the level I fail, haha.

Oh man we'll never forget the day we saw DDR

98 - 12 - 20 at the Konami Computer Entertainment Tokyo building in Tokyo, Japan meeting our Uncle's Co-Worker and we noticed the game in their mini arcade center. At first we were completely stressing out over the fact that we couldn't dance for nothing riiight.gif;;; the first song was Midnite Blaze and over the time we spent at other local arcade centers, wasting a good 3000 yen trying to get better and amazingly improving ^^

And now we're Maniac Dancing Freaks of Nature ^^

Midnight Blaze in 98? How the hell did you pull that off? 2nd Mix wasn't even out yet in Japanese arcades on the date you gave.
