Do you do any sort of excerises, just for DDR? I was wondering what kind of muscles the game works, since I've seen some pretty heavy guys play and still finish off some Maniac songs...
Is is a stamina thing, or can excerises help? I've been riding my bike a lot these days, often up-hill, and I hope that the work will pay off in the arcades.

DDR is my exercise. I don't think anybody does any exercise to improve themselves in DDR. They just keep playing DDR until they get better. Good question I never thought of though.

Hmm. That's an intersting point to what I was wondering about. Whether or not people just stick to DDR, or work out to be better at DDR...

Right! I'm taking this query to the Gameplay Forum!! laugh.gif

I can't be botehred going all the way to gameplay... (2 whole clicks! :O ) so i'll post here... i only usually stretch my legs before playing ddr, but start out light to warm up.. like say Exotic Ethnic up first, as it's not a massively draining song for me, then work up.

I'm sure if it was sold for profit, Konami would clamp down on it (I'm sure it's a matter of time before they clamp down on ITG).[/quote]

last year i started to play ddr really well really fast when i played football. the exercises they do concentrate on your legs most of the time. and stretching helps too.

so if you want to play ddr well, play football! j/k you dont have to

Depending on your age you can determine whether or not to use weights to train your muscles. If you're still growing rapidly (15 or under) then you should just use your own body weight as resistance so you wont possibly stunt your growth.

That being said, just about anybody training for anything uses weight training to enhance their performance. Most of us are too lazy to go to a gym, but if you wanted to strengthen the muscles in your legs it would probably enhance your DDR performance. I would suggest doing lunges, squats, some sort of hip exercise (side leg lifts?), and wall sits (for endurance). You should also train your abs for stability (turning). Try doing the bicycle maneuver so you can get your obliques too.

If you don't know how to do these and can't find a representation of them using www.google.com, feel free to PM or IM me for more of an explanation.
