let's put it this way...

DANCE 'TILL YOU'R FUGGIN EYEBALLS SWEAT!!!! sweat.gif phew.gif
seriously, what I did was I practiced over and over on a light song. then when i thought i was ready, I tryed a different song on standard, and I did half-good on it. In short, practice a song on the same difficulty, and then try another song/difficulty. that way, I learned the "basic techniques", like left.gifdown.gifright.gif quickly.

Just play.

And watch good players.

By good I mean, people who can get AAs on songs.

By good I DON'T MEAN people who pass MAX 300 or Paranoia Survivor with a D.

Just pay attention to what they do. You'll pick up on stuff

At first it's not that important to have precise timing. That will come later. Just try to get every step as hard as you can.

Just keep on playing, and you're bound to get better.

This probably belongs in gameplay, but there is my two cents.

Gameplay forum.

Learn gallops, crossovers, and other "special" techniques that seem to make it easier to step...

Also, just play what you can and get better at them, it came natural for most of us.

I just practiced normally, nothing special, practicing is all you gotta do and when your watching those good players dont go comparing yourself and start thinking things like "oh i'll never be to pass that song" just know that if you practice you will progress and eventually be right up there with them.

Play with people that are better then you. ..because you don't have to worry about failing the song and losing your credit when there's someone else to carry you..that way you can try the harder songs without fear.

Practice Practice Practise.

It's been about 3.5 months and I'm doing heavy now.
Can pretty much A or AA any 7 footers.
Just play and play and play.

Play til your dead tired. If you do good when your tired, not only will your stamina improve but think what you can do when your not tired:P

When I play at home. I like to play until I can no longer find a dry spot on my tshirt to wipe the sweat off my forhead:)

2) work on your 1/8th steps

3) learn to look for patters like the udu 1/8th step.

4) learn to read the arrows faster

5) play til your mom wants to play laugh.gif

my mom has a fake hip and she is tryin to get passed on the jazz by johny dynamite. its only a two footer but for her a one footer was the greatest thing she ever did. its kewl.

Just like anything else. Practice, practice, practice. Oh, and did I mention practice? Practice until you can't move. It worked for me E13.gif.

well...whatever you do dont try to do stuff you know you cant...then you loose money...and stages by failing..and plus you look stupid...id make more fun of a person who does like max or w/e when they know they cant then someone who actually does what they can do no matter if its begginner, light, standard or heavy

Thats true to an extent, but never be afraid to try something new.. if you think it's within your range, go for it E1.gif being nervous about a song will make it harder to perform well, so always "give it your best" E13.gif (or is that a think that only euromix machines say?lol oh well)

hey guys. thanks so much for your input. yea this should've gone in a different post. i've got a friend whos about 4 years older than me and way better than me and we go to the arcade. my best friend also has ddr maxx on ps2, and she lives 3 houses away from me. so i go there and play whenever she lets me. i just get frustrated sometimes when i cant pass something. but i can pass max300 on light mode, a c is my highest. not a great accomplishment, but its better. what do you think about training mode? when i cant get a song at first, i play it at a slower speed and with assistance, so i can get the step patterns right. then i slowly increase the speed and eventually take assitance off. does that sound good? or should i just dance until its physically impossible to sweat anymore. happy.gif

both-i've practiced a lot by just playing, and also by taking a song into training, but usually only when i really need to get a rhythm down.

but definately watch really good players-i know that i improved a lot this summer, when i finally got to watch some more experienced players-look for how they handle diff types of crossovers, and also just how they move.

and i know that i really improved by playing a lot of songs that were too hard for me.

but definately practice practice! just don't get too burned out, take a break evey once in a while...

Yes, everything that's been said is true. Including that thing about the gameplay forum.
