Can I wear shoes if I mod my soft pad?

By mod I of course mean the wooden board the sheet plastic and the nailgun. The subject pretty much says it all. I'm sick of blisters I get cuz I didn't wear shoes. I've heard some 'iffy' reviews of my 3rd party (mad catz) soft pad, apparently they get torn up pretty easily. Based on that, I don't wear shows when I use it now.

if you put a sheet of carpet plastic (the thing that lets chairs roll easily on carpet), then yes.
