Pump it on step mania

i have the pump it add on, but how do u make it work on stepmania?

edit: how do u add moving characters (like dancing rage or emi etc)?

First of all, using PIU and Dancing Characters are two totally different matters...

1. PIU support: If you want to play PIU, meaning with 5 arrows, you can do so with CVS, with Pump It Up CVS Support pack. You can download it at http://www.stepmania.com in the Downloads section.

Once you have it installed, then in the main menu of CVS, go to "Switch Games" then you can choose between playing DDR or PIU. If you pick PIU, you can play the songs you have with PIU, or, if you have songs for PIU, you can do so. (CVS convert the steps from DDR to PIU, and from PIU to DDR, although if you convert the steps in PIU to DDR, it would turn out to be a little bit odd and may require hitting 3 arrows or more at a time like Beethoven Virus.)

2. Dancing Charaters: Now, CVS support dancing characters! First, download the Dancing Characters pack and install it. If you want a dancing character to be there while playing, enter the options menu (Press enter when a song is starting) and go down to "Dancing Charaters" and select one. Remember to check the Background options that it is allowed to display charaters.

i have installed the 5th mix skin. however it doesn't work - i got it from here: http://stepmania.smaaash.com/stepmania.html

anyways, it doesn't work giving me some kind of missing a file error : stepmania/5thmix/fonts/somethingwrong.dll

getting bak to my topic: i thought i need to install the 5th mix in able to let me play with the ddr characters.

however, WHERE DO I PUT THE CHARACTER FOLDER?
do i place it on visual folder or something? the same with the pump it folder. WHERE DO I PUT THAT?

sorry if i sound stressed but really im not. it just looks like it.
