I'm not sure if this has been a post before, but oh well. What is the craziest thing you have ever done to learn a DDR song? What I mean is what steps did you take just to learn a really hard song like Max300? For me I went on-line and printed off the step charts to So Deep and I spent about an hour inserting everything in. Unfortunately I didn't have DWI then so that is what I had to do. It worked, I now know all the steps to So Deep. |

I kinda followed your method, only I had a partner switch off with me to
do the 2nd half of the song. Then we played it again, with myself taking the
1st half and vice versa...this way, we wouldn't pass out from having to do
the entire song at once, but believe me, we still got pretty damn tired!
We did this for a good 2-3 hours straight until we both knew the song well
enough to try out the whole thing and whattaya know! We both passed
with A's! WEEEE Oh yeah, let's not forget the hours upon hours of
DWI/StepMania practice at home |

I sold my soul to pass Max 300 on standard....
Now that I'm up to 8~9 footers, I kinda wished I woulda save it. But that's Satan for ya'. He gives you what you think is a good deal for your eternal soul, and then you find something better =-(
Actually, the most I've ever done for a song is probably for Max300. My friend and I would be about to finish playing DDR on his PS2, and I'd say "before we go, I wanna play one song."
I would choose Max 300 on standard.... go for it.... fail.... and say "OK, one more time...."
Then I'd play it again. And fail. And play it again "just one more time." And fail. And ask to play it "one more time." And fail that one too. Then I'd finally give up.... but then I'd say, "no I can do this." And I'd try it again.
The day I finally passed it, I decided I'd better quit while I was ahead. I knew I wasn't going to pass it again that day.

Hey whatever works, right? Just this week I haven't been able to play DDR at home due to the broken dance pad I have. I have a metal one on the way 6 days in now. But I selected the songs and just danced to the steps on the wooden platform I have for the dance mat. Also Since my memory card was recently corrupted (or at least my DDR data) I obtained some new records on Healing Vision: AM about 420 misses!!! "Wow it's a new record!" lol I have a sudden urge to play that song now. Hm... maybe it's time I AAA that song on heavy. First I'm going to AAA the other 4 songs I have in my grasp on heavy.
1. Love Shine- 4 greats
2. Candy(heart)- 9 greats
3. Paranoia Kcet mix- 14 greats
4. Can't Stop Fallin' in love (Speed Mix)- 29 greats
I'm getting there. Maybe I will use some of those unique tatics of mine to practice those songs at home. I can't wait until I recieve my metal dance pad!!!! yay! |

leading cyber.
this was last summer, i was in a 5th mix tourney, and i wanted to make this song a weapon from scratch. i didn't even know how to do the digital storm in the middle of the song, but i still wanted to use it in the upcoming tourney. so i printed out the step chart, and studied it... and studied, studied, studied, did the steps on the floor, listened to the mp3 over and over, went to the arcade the day before the tourney and played the song 15 times in a row. got it up to a 92% full combo.
during the tourney i got 90% with 1 miss, and i beat the guy i was facing (Fyhr, some of you may know him) by 1 step. this was only the semi's, i went on to lose in the finals.
but yeah my ridiculous leading cyber practice got me 2nd place in a tourney.
my current best on 5th mix is an 11 great full combo and I have a 6 great full combo on Extreme. _________________

When I went to a tourney a while ago, I found out that all the qualifying songs I have decided to do were eliminated. The only song I could practice for now was Afronova Primeval.
I spent a good hour playing that song non stop on the 5th mix in the arcade. I finally got 53 greats on it, which was as best as I could get it down too. This was like my 4th time AA'ing a song and my 2nd cata
I got 58 greats in the qualifying round, not enough to qualify _________________

What good does a step chart do for that song? I don't think I'd be able to read it. _________________
