I was suprised at V's challenge steps. I thought it would just be some turning runs, WHICH IT HAS, and some oddly placed gallops, WHICH IT HAS, BUT NO! They add 1/16 note runs too! Those steps are as fast as the 1/8 note runs in max 300. They could put 1/16 notes into the big piano part on that song...

Speaking of V, the last sixteenth note run in the double challenge steps really threw me off the first time I saw it. The big ones:

- Seeing Sakura for the first time in New-Revenge...the big slowdown floored me. Watching that was probably the most shocking moment in my year and a half playing DDR.
- Freckles double when I was trying to just find some easy songs to pass my first time playing Max1.
- Orion.78 double. SO SLOW
- The tempo freeze in HVAM

Leading Cyber.

Before song: *pumped up* Okay, there'll a fast part in the middle, but I'm good at read scrunched-together stuff.
Start of song: Grr... sliding and stomping... this is a lot tougher than people make it sound online...
Near middle of song: Woo. First big 1/16th run. I missed some steps there... was that a turn?
Middle of song: *wall of arrows comes along* Holy crap! What the hell is that?!
FAIL

Genom Screams doubles owns you all. A friend of mine was playing a Random Nonstop, and when I saw Genom Screams come up, I think to myself, "Hmm, another easy 8-footer". Nope. He failed quite quickly. E1.gif

Ska A Go Go standard was funny too (I failed it, after passing the heavy steps).

Somewhere Over The Rainbow heavy. First time I played it was in Tempo Changer oni course. Obviously, I knew there would be a tempo change. I saw the first 16 arrows flying up and thought to myself "haha, this must be the slowdown"

"... oh sh¡t!!" *FAIL*

Ska A Go Go Standard.

It's all fun and games and laughing at its simplicity ... until you hit those horrible, horrible runs at the end. erm.gif

DAMN, BEAT ME TO IT. oh well, as long as were on the same subject, i think everyone remembers their first time playing (and probably failing) nearly 130 cause of that song laugh.gif

same with burnin the floor momo and neo naoki standard, i remember the first day we got EX and ver2 was so proud to have gotten past memories on his first try, and then burnin the floor momos speed up caught him VERY off guard.

I'm gonna have to say The Legend Of Max. When you get to that long freeze and everything just slows down and you're like "WTF? Why is it slowing down?" Then after 4 measure, the speed comes back and you're like "Holy shiet! That's messed up!" Then you fail...Well...At least I did the first time I played it. riiight.gif
