Help with ghost or phantom steps!

I would like to know if there is a fix for the ghost or phantom steps with the soft pads. I have two modified ones at home that work perfectly except for that fact that my big fat feet hit the square, triange, x, or circle buttons, which do the ghost step thing. When I step on the x or square button and hold it in, it makes the left arrow(square button) or up arrow(x button) activate nonstop (like when you hold in a key on a keyboard), but the other ones don't do that... so i would like to know what to do about this pesky problem... its making me so sad! =(

You go to Controller Settings.
You go to Dance Mode Settings.
You turn Controller Mode OFF.

Simple.
