I have, for whatever reason, been collecting the DDR soundtracks through redoctane.com. Currently I have all the CDs from 2nd Mix to DDRMAX2... It appears to be a good thing I did when I did, as all they have right now are 4th Mix and Solo 2000. I'm wondering, is there or will there be a DDR EXTREME soundtrack, and where can I find a IIDX soundtrack to complete the collection?

Yes, there is a DDR Extreme soundtrack... I don't remember the sites where you can order them, but look around on the internet...
Same thing with Beatmania... I don't know if they have those though, but I'd assume they do, since they made DDR soundtracks...

Umm, was there any point in saying that, other than possibly getting in trouble? |

There was a site that had (at one time) all of the IIDX soundtracks, all of the DDR soundtracks, Dance Maniax, and a few other random things (such as the good-cool super collection or something like that), but I can't really remember where it is, or if it still exists. _________________

Yeah, it's been awhile since I posted in this topic... I am just now registering on cdjapan.co.jp after trying several times without success to search for the album... I did find it, though. I did e-mail RedOctane, and they said, specifically, that they did not have an expected date for the DDR EXTREME album, and recommended cdjapan. I do notice a few spelling errors here and there, like "Dance Dance Revilution" or "CDJaapn," but the site actually uses very good English for a Japanese site... (I was actually expecting that popup that asks you to download a Japanese character font to come up.) So, simply put, I am about to order. (Unfortunately, I have not seen "every" DDR track out there; maybe I haven't searched enough. For some reason, a simple search for DDR fails to turn up much. Maybe it's the "Revilution" spelling...)

if you dont care about having cheap, low-quality cds and packaging, then sure, use ebay
edit: heres a good example with the iidx 7th style soundtrack, you can see its simpler, and if you compare them up close, you can tell the originals are made with so much more quality.
this is what the bootleg looks like (pic taken from ebay):
this is what its supposed to look like:

Question, cfusionpm: You refer to "ever crapime" CDs as being bootlegs. My current collection includes:
1. 2nd Mix - distributed by SonMay Records - A&G-065~066
2. 3rd Mix - Ever Anime - GM-233/34
3. Solo 2000 - Ever Anime - GM-328-329
4. 4th Mix - SonMay - A&G-189~190
5. 5th Mix - SonMay - SMG-017~018
6. DDRMAX - SonMay - SMG-032~033
7. DDRMAX Sampler (Toys R Us exclusive) - Konami of America
8. DDRMAX2 - Alion - ALCA-8039/40
Besides of course the exclusive sampler, who publishes the official soundtracks? (I find it interesting all of them mention Dancemania but not Konami or Bemani.)

Thank you very much for the links... great place to find the track listings. For the record, cdjapan.co.jp charges, after S/H, 4,775 yen, or around $40 US, for the DDR EXTREME soundtrack. I plan to put it to minidisk, like the other soundtracks, along with as many of the other tracks which appear in the arcade, grouped into their appropriate categories (IIDX,1stMIX, 2ndMIX, 3rdMIX, etc.) as I have on the previous disks and from the US home versions of the game. (This is strictly private use, as a minidisk is a heckuva lot more portable than a CD, and I have the Sony player which records over 5 hours on one 80 minute disk... nice. I can highly recommend the NET MD model, although the control panel on mine is aggravatingly messed up, but I blame being jostled about in transportation more than factory defect; besides, I can use the remote unit for control, anyway. [This unit is optional, and came with a previous player which broke down.])

First, my postscript about Bring Da Noise was mistaken; that was the cooperative effort between Public Enemy and Aerosmith. The song I was thinking of is the *Run-DMC* / Aerosmith jam, Walk This Way, which is apparently on the Giants Mania album, which has nothing to do with Brooklyn group TMBG, but rather the baseball team (whether the New York team or its overseas equivalent, I'm not sure). (This is the same album from which we got Witch Doctor.)
Second, there is *no way* I'm going to be able to fit every song from Extreme onto the 5-hour LP4 disk, let alone the tracks I have; it would be a much bigger issue, however, had I not already recorded these onto two other minidisks before. The new stuff from the Extreme album is the absolute priority here; everything else is just repeated for the sake of a more complete minidisk. I will have to - gasp! - not record songs I don't like. (For instance, why did the arcade game have to have Little Boy and not My Generation?) Right now, I am working backwards and recording the repeated tracks; I will add the Extreme tracks to it when I get the album and shuffle the groups around.

Hate to burst your bubble, but Ever Anime and Son May are the same place. If you look on the back of your CD's, right near the bottom, you'll see a nicely cropped spot where the Konami copyright information would be. Once you get your Extreme soundtrack from CD-Japan, you'll see a nice little Konami Logo in the bottom.
How do I know this?
I used to buy exclusively from Son May. $10 for anime soundtracks that ran $35 each. I was a bastard, and now I buy legit. If it's less than $30 and it's a DDR soundtrack, it's fake. _________________

Yeah, I can't wait to have my first legitimate Dancemania CD... It'd be one thing, with all due respect to RedOctane, if I were purchasing the CDs KNOWING they were Taiwanese bootlegs, but I don't think they mention this anywhere on their site. Of course, I could be wrong.
F'rinstance, that Giants comment. The New York Giants are a FOOTBALL team... I think the San Francisco Giants are the baseball team. I haven't researched to see whether this is true, or what Japanese city, if any, has a baseball team called the Giants... Forgive me, I'm a [blank]ing moron this week.

And just an FYI, SonMay and Ever Anime are both bootleg manufacturers. That's why they are always so cheap. |
