Problem with Solo Mode on Konamix

About a couple of weeks ago, I was playing in 6-panel solo mode, and I was doing well on the song (I can't remember which song I was attempting now) and the dance meter wasn't even close to running out...and before the song was finished the "Failed" screen came up and the game was over. And to make matters worse, that was on the first song of the game. After a couple of tries like that, I tried going into Game Options and adjusting it so it would let me go up to the end of the song even if the dance meter ran out...and it still did this.

Is there something wrong with the copy I have? I looked at other posts to see if anyone else was having this problem, and I couldn't find any. The game has worked fine for me, other than this.

At first I was perplexed at how it would fail you in the middle if with event mode on, but I think I might know the problem

Since you're playing on Solo Mode, you might possibly be hitting start when you're also hitting O at the same time

I guess the only way to fix that is just keep playing and getting used to solo mode, and try and watch your feet

Yes, holding the start button will autofail any song. On any mix, too.
