Shock Arrows

...am i the only one who's not looking forward to the shock arrows on DDR X?
i have enough trouble with ITG's mines

i don't know why Konami added that

I've never tried DDR or ITG with mine/shock arrows so I'm not really looking forward to it. I think Konami made them to keep us on our toes and not just hit random arrows to pass the song.

Shock arrows will be awesome if they're used correctly. Konami will probably play with their new toy before reading the directions though. If Konami uses them to make people jump off, that's fine. If they use them to spell words, that's fine too. If they use them to make people lift their feet faster, that's good if it fits the song. If Konami throws them in randomly, that's bad and can ruin a chart. If they have them flying by at 1,000 BPM with regular arrows and freezes, sometimes right after arrows, I'm sticking to StepMania and will rarely touch new DDR games.

well, I've always thought mines were a good idea, but they tend to be charted all crazy-like. It seems like the steps charted, then they just go back and add mines in places where their aren't many arrows. maybe shock arrows will be charted better.

I've always hated mines in ITG, so I'm not in favor of this innovation. I'd rather have better stepcharts than more experimental ones (which is exactly why I generally hated the new material in SN2).

So they're like mines, except horribly misused and they don't make the charts more fun.

I hate how they ALWAYS come in lines of 4. It's like Konami is trying to make people stop playing DDR by doing everything wrong. Stupid gimmicky bosses + these abused and overused monsters = instant bad DDR game.
