Is there any way I can fix the cutoffs for the ratings on the ITG2 theme for Stepmania 3.9?
For example, I want the star to be @ 96%, not at 80ish, like how the theme came with.
Anyway I can get stepmania to read rolls as well? |

Open your StepMania folder, go to Data, open StepMania.ini, find the GradePercent and GradeWeight lines, and change the values to the following:
GradePercentTier01=1.000000
GradePercentTier02=0.990000
GradePercentTier03=0.980000
GradePercentTier04=0.960000
GradePercentTier05=0.940000
GradePercentTier06=0.920000
GradePercentTier07=0.890000
GradePercentTier08=0.860000
GradePercentTier09=0.830000
GradePercentTier10=0.800000
GradePercentTier11=0.760000
GradePercentTier12=0.720000
GradePercentTier13=0.680000
GradePercentTier14=0.640000
GradePercentTier15=0.600000
GradePercentTier16=0.550000
GradePercentTier17=-100.000000
GradePercentTier18=0.000000
GradePercentTier19=0.000000
GradePercentTier20=0.000000
GradeTier02IsAllPerfects=0 <---- If you don't change this to 0, you'll need a FEC to get a ***.
GradeWeightBoo=-6
GradeWeightGood=0
GradeWeightGreat=2
GradeWeightHitMine=-6
GradeWeightMarvelous=5
GradeWeightMiss=-12
GradeWeightNG=0
GradeWeightOK=5
GradeWeightPerfect=4
If you have Ridiculous Timing, you'll need to add a line to the end of the GradeWeight section:
GradeWeightRidiculous=5
When you start StepMania, the game will delete this line, but it somehow understands it! You'll need to add this line EVERY time you start StepMania or else it will count Ridiculouses as 5 out of 0 DP or something like that.
You can also get the ITG theme in 3.9 to display your percentage as you play instead of the long score by going to the "PercentWeight" section and changing the values to the following:
PercentScoreWeightBoo=-6
PercentScoreWeightGood=0
PercentScoreWeightGreat=2
PercentScoreWeightHitMine=-6
PercentScoreWeightMarvelous=5
PercentScoreWeightMiss=-12
PercentScoreWeightNG=0
PercentScoreWeightOK=5
PercentScoreWeightPerfect=4
PercentageScoring=1 <---- This causes the game to display percent DP as calculated with these values instead of long score during the song.
Again, if you have Ridiculous Timing, you'll find two more lines:
PercentScoreWeightRidiculous=5 <---- This is what you change it to.
PercentWeightRidiculous=2 <---- I don't know what this is, but you can ignore it.
Unfortunately, you cannot get rolls in 3.9. The closest you can come is to edit the songs that have rolls, place holds in them where the rolls are, and "roll" when you play them. Changing the "OK" window to 320 ms (see below) will give you as much time as with rolls.
StepMania's judgment windows are actually much closer to ITG's than DDR's, so keep the judge difficulty at 4. If you want to be super accurate, you can change the JudgeWindow values to:
JudgeWindowAdd=0.000000
JudgeWindowScale=1.000000
JudgeWindowSecondsAttack=0.135000
JudgeWindowSecondsBoo=0.180000
JudgeWindowSecondsGood=0.135000
JudgeWindowSecondsGreat=0.102000
JudgeWindowSecondsMarvelous=0.021500
JudgeWindowSecondsMine=0.070000
JudgeWindowSecondsOK=0.320000
JudgeWindowSecondsPerfect=0.043000
If you have Ridiculous Timing, there will be a line below this which you change to:
JudgeWindowSecondsRidiculous=0.010750
so it's exactly half the Fantastic window.
The one thing you cannot get in 3.9 is the dashes that tell you in real time which way you're off - you'll have to upgrade to 3.95 or 4.0 for that.
Unfortunately, if you have Ridiculous Timing, the game will fall back on the DEFAULT theme judgment graphics, so you'll have to make your own. Plus, the results screen will not show Ridiculous above your Fantastic count - instead it's in the background next to an alternative "Fantastic" graphic! |
