Rock Band for the Wii came out yesterday for the suggested retail price of $169.99.
In addition, Rock Band Track Pack Volume 1 for Wii and PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system will be shipping to retail on July 15, 2008, for a MSRP of $29.99. The 20-song pack features an electrifying mix of classic hits and current favorites, including songs by Boston, Nine Inch Nails, Stone Temple Pilots, and 30 Seconds to Mars. _________________

This has nothing to do with DDR yet you haven't posted anything about Konami's new Rock Band Style game. _________________

The Track Pack is just songs that you can download on the 360/PS3 version. List of songs in pack here
& to get it out of the way, the 5 extra "bonus" songs are just songs that you can download on the 360/PS3 version, which are:
"Dirty Little Secret" - The All American Rejects
"Don't Look Back in Anger" - Oasis
"Roam" - The B-52's
"Rockaway Beach" - The Ramones
"Roxanne" - The Police |

Note that if you also have a PS2 (and no PS3 or 360), which seems likely if you are here (DDR, Beatmania, etc), then there is little reason to pick up the Wii version instead of the PS2 version. They are identical except for the color of the instruments and that the PS2 bundle can now be had for $100 shipped from Amazon and elsewhere. The PS2 version supports 480p and 16:9 too, incidentally. So the PS2 bundle costs $70 less and also gives the potential for using the instruments on some future PS3 you might buy (the instruments are compatible), perhaps toward which you'll save those $70. If you don't have a PS2, though, go for it. FYI, I have the PS2 version. Yes, I'd like to have DLC and character customization, but the lack of those features doesn't change the core game, which is fantastic, especially when played with others. |

1. Konami's new Rock Band Style game also has nothing to do with DDR.
2. I didn't know Konami had a new Rock Band Style game. Why don't you link me to it and I'll post something? _________________

actually, the wii version also supports online play, IIRC, and features the 5 extra songs. Also, if you don't plan on getting a PS3 or 360, you should definitely go with the wii version since it's unlikely future installments will come out on the PS2. i still reccomend buying a 360 or PS3 for the game, since they are the best versions and always will be. The PS2 and wii versions feature pre-rendered videos and don't look nearly as nice, and on top of that the band world tour mode sucks. We'll see if harmonix puts actual effort into the wii version of the inevitable rock band 2. |

This is my issue.
Rock Revolution was created by Konami, the company that created the game which gave rise to this website. Yet after three months of being announced it still gets no front page mention, while Rock Band and Guitar Hero have gotten at least four.
Are Activision and Red Octane paying your bills Jdogg? Is it just politics or are you really that daft? I hardly believe it's the latter. _________________

Jdogg isn't notified of every thread thats made and I'm sure he doesn't go looking around for front page news. But if you have to be anal about it go send everything Konami related to him.
Also Konami is publishing it _________________

Actually google pays most of my bills.
The makers of Rock Band send me press releases about what they're doing. Konami does not. That's the simple reason why Rock Band is getting more coverage. _________________
