dead or completely deaf and not yet having a good home theatre setup so I can "hear" the bass through my feet. OR, my roomie gets thoroughly disgusted with me and ddr and I end up living on the street ... will DDR for food?

I'll probably play until my joints can't handle DDR anymore. Hopefully that won't be until at least 40.

how bout instead we have this; how old were you until you stopped playing DDR?

in that case, for me it was 16. SuperNOVA 2 and hottest party were just so lame i didn't wanna play anymore. i still play maybe once a month on a konami soft pad, but really, the last time i played 4 panel at an arcade was probably november. Since my friend got a pump it up machine and upgraded to NX2 i just can't go back, lol.

Going from memory, I quit a few months after Extreme US came out, which was what, late 2004 IIRC? So around early 2005. Then I played (mostly ITG) for about a month and a half last summer, and quit again.

Well, can't remember the exact date, but sometime around when I entered high school I just... stopped playing DDR. It had to be high school because when I was in middle school, I remember I was still into it. I dunno why I stopped; I guess because I didn't have any home versions of the game (didn't even have a console-- dirt poor), and after Pocket Change at the mall closed down I didn't really have an arcade to go play at, either.

Randomly, around the end of 2006, I just started picking it up again. I'd found a DDR machine at Malibu Grand Prix and I started playing there whenever I could. GOD those pads sucked. I was so happy to find not one, but TWO decent DDR machines at Gameworks... And the rest is history.

As to when I'll stop playing for good... uh... on my deathbed, maybe? riiight.gif

Assuming I live a normal life and the world doesn't end, some time when my back hurts too much from chasing those gosh-darned whippersnappers off of my lawn.

OVER 9000

Yeah, I said it. Go suck your dad off if you don't like it.

But seriously...I dunno. As long as there are good cabinets around, I suppose.

I'm already older than any other player I've ever met at the arcades, yet I can't see myself stopping anytime soon. I've made a lot of good friends through meetings at the local DDR/ITG machine and it's a great way for me to get some serious exercise. I'll probably keep playing until the arcade owners think I'm too old to actually enjoy arcade games and assume that I must be a child predator or something...so that'll probably be when I'm in my 40s.

Geez... does this mean that I'm going to have to start wearing a "I enjoy stomping arrows more than having sex with your kids" t-shirt when I go to the arcade from now on??

Anyhow, I don't see myself ever playing DDR seriously again. I hate the majority of the community anyhow, and I quit when I was 17ish. So about 2 years and no DDR?

For dancing games in general, probably five years from now. The only DDR I play now days is Extreme JP at home which is few and far between in plays.
