|

Here is the deal.
I have owed Supernova forever and I love it. The music especially (j-pop and trance) The only thing I wish they had more of was battle modes.
I thought it was time to purchase a new ddr since all the new ones came out. For some reason I thought DDR Universe 2 would be the best choice, but I was wrong.
So, me and my brother purchased DDR Universe 2. I don't like it. I think the music selection has to be the worst I have ever seen. (which is really important to me) On the other hand the battle modes are everything I wanted.
I need help!!! I want to return this DDR Universe 2, BUT I don't know which DDR to go with. And I don't want to spend 200 buying everyone to find out.
If any DDR experts out there that have played them all could maybe suggest the one they think would fit my needs I would really appreciate it.
Here are the two most important things i'm looking for:
-I'm looking for a DDR with awesome music. Alot of J-POP and Trance (up-beat good happy music)
-I'm also looking for a DDR that has awesome multiplayer modes. Like in Universe how they had BOMB and what not. I love 4 player mode too it's one of the main reasons I purchased Universe 2
I appreciate any help that comes my way. I've tried doing research on all of the ddr's but can't find any of the important things out. I've looked everywhere!!
Thanks again.

I can't really help you for multiplayer mode but for J-pop, I think that most of the unlocks of EX2 contained it. And for trance and happy, that would be In The Groove you should check out.
And I am not baching on you but you should have post this in the DDR section dedicated to the home ports. _________________

If you really like multiplayer battle type games, go with In The Groove. So many mods that will always provide a challange for versus.
Extreme 2 and Supernova 2 have the kind of music you like. _________________

I appreciate the help from both of you.
It looks like I will probably be purchasing extreme 2 and supernova 2.
Do you know if either of those games includes vs. modes like bomb or relay?
I just wish both of those games included 4 player offline gameplay. |

In regards to song selection, I would recommend looking at some songlist videos on youtube for each console release (that is assuming you aren't on dial-up). Some people have videotaped all the songs that show up on each release, so you can just type in the game name and add songlist to the search and you should get something. It won't give you a complete idea of what the songs will be like, but it'll give you a general idea I suppose. |

yea thanks digi, i've already done that and they had some songlists for Supernova 2, Universe 2, extreme and hottest party.
I do have 1 more question. Which ddr's have 4 player battle modes like BOMB and what not? |

Extreme 2 and SuperNOVA 2 pretty much have the most popular songlists. SuperNOVA 2 has battle mode like SuperNOVA. DDRMAX also has a very good songlist, but that may be very hard to find nowadays. |

J-Pop & Trance: Max2, Extreme2, & SuperNova2. (notice a pattern here yet, lol?)
The multiplayer thing... your better off just buying the Ultramix series... preferably games 2-4. _________________

DDRMAX has a good selection, MAX 2 is even better, EX 2 has more, and SN 2 has a "modern DDR" feel, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.
In The Groove is excellent, though. Lots of trance, dnb, happy hardcore... AND IT HAS SCRIPTED MARATHONS! I'm crazy about those... I script courses for StepMania (Free DDR sim for the computer). I've been called the next WinDEU.
You might want to try StepMania. That way, you can download any DDR songs you want, any themes you want, and any courses you want. StepMania 3.9 also has a neat negative BPM glitch that some songs use. You can even make your own playable songs and steps and share them with others! _________________
