|
|
I am brand new to ddr -- looking for some fun exercise. I just bought my first game (Supernova 2) with bundled Konami soft pad for PS2, purchased at my local Best Buy. Straight out of the box the pad seems to work OK in dance mode, but when I try to browse some of the menus such as options, master mode, workout mode, etc., it randomly starts to rapidly scroll through the selections without me touching any of the arrows (it keeps doing it even when I step off the pad). It will stop doing this for a few seconds but then will start again. This is driving me nuts! Should I just return this pad and exchange it for a new one or is there some kind of "break-in" period for this pad? Thanks for any advice.

return it.
also, my konami pad has lasted me nearly 2 years. Its not the best pad in the world, but for a low-maintainence pad that costs about $20, it gets the job done for any casual players. I can even do heavy songs on it, although my scores suffer a bit. |

Every soft pad I've ever had has done that (i've had about four). Sometimes it helps to make sure they are really flat on the floor, cause if they get folded a bit it can cause scrolling.
but if you get really serious about DDR, i'd highly reccomend a hard pad, because even more annoying than the rapid scrolling is the way soft pads slide all across the floor while you play. |

I have the same problem with my DDR Game foam mats ($100 each) here at my school. They scroll at will. The pads didn't even last 3 weeks. Is there any way to correct it. We are buying Cobalt Flux Pads as soon as we raise the money but hate to lose this money. |
