ITG all the way man.
Bigger and brighter screens, sensitive pads, USB slots on the dedicabs.
The songs are harder more challenging.
I can play r21/custom songs and play my edits.
Of course, i like about DDR they have cooler techno music.
ITG needs some more dance music. _________________

I do like DDR better for 1 very importent reason, MUSIC. ITG has awkward music that isn't really dance able, just music that was made to have hard steps, DDR has GREAT music, and really dance able music, it is a dance game you know. _________________

I like both equally. I've enjoyed ITG for a longer time, but now DDR sucked me in.
Both have their pros and cons. My main complaint with ITG is that some of its music sucks, which isn't really a big deal. And my main complaint with DDR is that its songs are too easy, but its mostly about getting AAAs so its not that much of a big deal either.
Other than the things I mentioned, I think both are great. |

I like DDR more in the fun aspect. Most songs are excellent, and it helps you get past the fact that the stepcharts might suck.
But, ITG is (was) the future. It built on everything DDR did, and only failed minutely in the music aspect.
I don't really like one more than the other. I grew up on Extreme and still love it, but ITG is something different. I go through phases of which game I like more. ^^ Right now it's ITG, but in about 6 months, I'll get sick of ITG and go right back to DDR. =] _________________

I don't like ANY music from ITG2, but now knowing I can take files from StepMania, put them on a USB, & then play them on the AC, that makes me excited to know there's a ITG machine w/ USB slots. I mainly like DDR due to the music & the fact that there's a chance that a song that I like from GF/DM, IIDX, or Pop'n might be on a future DDR. |

I like hands but I don't like mines.
ITG has boring videos, but newer DDRs don't even have videos.
DDR has better music and prettier arrows.
ITG has things like brake and .5x for added challenge, but DDR's just now getting around to that.
DDR has a better range of difficulties, mostly going from 6-10, while most ITG songs I've played were 8-10. I could move down a difficulty, but I've heard bad things about ITG's easier stepcharts.
Overall I prefer DDR for its variety and less competitive atmosphere. _________________

Better music fine, but prettier arrows? I need to disagree. I dunno how people like SN's vivd/note/rainbow/whatever over cel and metal. They're extremely hard to keep up with because of all those bright, trippy backgrounds and whatnot. I feel like its more of a challenge seeing the notes than actually getting perfects. |

Shurf's on the ball here. In a lot of cases, mostly now with SuperNOVA, you can't see the notes on some backgrounds (I like your term, trippy ). You just can't. _________________

A year or two ago I would have said I liked them both equally. But with ITG being cut down in its prime and with DDR going further down the shitter with each release (IMO, obviously), I would much rather see ITG continued than DDR. _________________

Sure. ITG arrows are insanely difficult to read on x1. Yes, I realize most ITG players could care less, but I play x1 because that's just how I like to play the game, and DDR arrows are so much more functional at x1 than ITG's blocky huge arrows. Does speed modding improve my score? Hells yes. Does ITG have a Challenge mode that forces x1? Hells no. Still, it's how I've always played and I dislike having to adjust for ITG; a flatter, sprite-like arrowskin on ITG would have been greatly appreciated by me (and probably no one else). _________________

ITG for me
Simply because unlike DDR, not only do I like 90% of the song choices, but the difficulty and stepcharts are awesome... ITG2 made things even better... ITG3... not so much. Songlist was great... steps for the most part were... aqward.
Although I will say that DDR in the past was ALOT of fun (4th, 5th, and 6th mix my favorite)... but then once Supernova came around... the "spark" I had for DDR dissapeared... mostly for the fact that Konami (in my eyes) is officially trying to immitate ITG and is doing a very poor job at it... whoring crossovers and whatnot.
But thats just me _________________

Yeah, that's what does it for me, mostly. My roommate wanted me to try one of the songs on his game, and trying to read those arrows on a small computer screen was way tough.
Also, I like the trippiness. _________________

because konami likes to put mainstream music in DDR so it can appeal to the n00bs.
think of it this way, most of these idiots will buy the entire god damned pad/bundle just because they see kelly clarkson/FOB...
honestly, konami isn't gonna put new bemani crossovers in DDR and just draw in the music game crowd, they are gonna put mainstream pop/rap music in DDR and draw in the non-music game crowd, which is incredibly larger than the music game crowd. think people, $$$$profit$$$$$ |

Same here. I just wish they kept the series as awesome as Extreme was. |
