|

Right now I am at a 9/10 level on DDR and I am deciding to make the transition to ITG. I recently bought a copy of ITGPC. If you need an idea of skill, I can AA most 9's and I have A/B's on most 10's aside from PSMO and FELM.
I also have played on a hard foam pad for pretty much all my life and I am making a transition to a metal pad.
So I need some advice here, what would you all recommend me doing? I hooked up my pad and I was scoring 70-80% on 8's and 65-75% on 9's. What all would you recommend that I do in order to get up to speed with ITG. |

Play more 8's and 9's and try some of the Expert 9's. The ones from ITG 2 are pretty good too (Birdie and Psalm Pilot come to mind) fairly easy 9's that are quite fun. |

I don't really recommend ITGPC, if you have a ps2, and if you can find ITGPS2, i highly suggest getting that. |

yea, pads hooked up to itgPC have lag, so your scores are lower than they should be. I tend to get scores 5% higher at the arcade then on ITG2PC (same song). But the difference can range from 3% to 10%!
ITG for the PS2 is DEFINATELY the way to go, but it is always good to have ITG for PC (for edits and custom songs and stuff). _________________

I know that there was a sync function in order to fix the possible lag. I also heard that ITG2 for PS2 was just a huge rumor. Is this true or not? |

ITG2PS2 was actually really close to production, but then konami came along and now i doubt we will ever play it =/
You can still download the beta torrent of the game, but i don't think you want to go through the hassle of burning games and modded ps2's etc. |

ITG2 won't come to PS2, but ITG 1 is out. It's better than ITGPC for sync and gameplay (convenience I suppose). If you have a modded PS2, you can also play modified versions of ITG that have ITG2/PC songs as well. _________________

Stepmania is largely inconvenient, and ITGPC has a better system.
Also, I've never seen a good ITG pack. _________________

Unless there's some new pack for ITG2 I'm unaware of, after today, I'm all too painfully aware of why Roxor didn't want those files distributed. Most of them are AWFUL sync-wise. Cryosleep, in particular, seems like it had no effort put forth into syncing it at all.
That said, I actually like ITGPC. Is it even available anymore though? _________________

Quite frankly, it doesn't even really matter what Roxor wants anymore, it's what konami wants, and the only thing konami wants is profit. Konami's staff is too busy thumbing their assholes to even know what's going on outside of their little cubicle.
And i'm guessing you're talking about the 2 slowdowns in Cryosleep? Well, they are meant to not make any sense, just like ride the bass's purple sections. (not the 12th's, you know what i mean) they are supposed to be gimmicks i guess.
But I guess Roxor hired some thoroughly retarded person to smash their face off the keyboard repetitively for about 10 seconds, and that's how they came up with the purple sections in Ride The Bass. |

Well yeah, I understand that about the slowdown and its not making sense. Maybe I just played a particularly bad file today, I dunno. It still seems like no effort whatsoever was put into syncing that pack, though. _________________

Well, did that pack have the official banners/backgrounds/stepcharts novice-expert? if it did, chances are it's just your global offset... |

It did not. It was one of the ITG2 Beta packs, I think. That was all I could find as of, um, not long ago, though better stuff may be out there now (Not that I care at this point, owning ITGPC and all). _________________

Play either game as frequently as you can in an arcade. _________________

That's a great idea since everyone lives in extremely close proximity to an ITG machine. I just take a short little several hundred mile drive down to Kansas City whenever I get off work and hope the mall hasn't closed by the time I get there. |
