Well, when I talk about DDR at my school they go "WOW, your obsessed", "Your such a geek", and other crap like that. I just wanted to know what you guys think.

Seriously, some people who play it are geeks, some aren't. It's not a "Well if you play it you are" clear-cut type of thing.

Yes, I am a DDR geek. And I'm pretty sure I'm other kinds of geek too. But DDR geek is one of the least shameful kinds  So I'm happy with that. |

people at my school dont say nething, they are just jealous, but they think it is cool... it isnt geeky, only if you play Butterfly and dance around like a fukin idiot. But DDR is excersise, so how could you be considered a geek for excersizing...?

Not only exercise but it helps you with coodination. And if you play an instrument DDR helps. Well at least it helps me with the piano.  |

Seconded - I do a LOT of different things besides DDR that would disqualify me from being a *real* geek. Hell, I don't know why it is not considered stupid to be deemed geeky just over one hobby? I mean, EVERYBODY has a fucking hobby right? Yes it shouldn't be something that shows itself obnoxiously or AD NASEUM to everybdy else but lighten up, and just have fun with it. The only people who talked badly about me playing DDR were snobs who were already in their elitist, douchbaggery world - everybody else I know (and most of the people I meet, some obvious exceptions noted beforehand) see it as an interesting hobby, or don't give a crap either way. 
To put it bluntly, play the goddamn game. Enjoy it and reap the benefits, while balancing it out with other enriching activities and social ventures, and if you really care about what people think about your playing DDR, a personal favor I ask you, re-evaluate why you play DDR carefully.

No, people are jealous if they start telling you that you suck hobo rooster at DDR and that they could beat you with a blindfold while listening to their iPod and not knowing which song they were doing, while they actually can't do better then beginner mode. Then they're jealous. |
