In an email from Broadjam:
"DDR Winners Placed in Game
Broadjam members Beatdrop and Sanxion7 were placed in Konami's 2007 version of video game and cultural phenomenon, Dance Dance Revolution. Congratulations to these artists for their inclusion in the bestselling video game in the music game category."
The two winners and their songs can be found at broadjam.com. I'd link the page, but it looks like it's a flash site.
Go to braodjam.com>contests>winner announced>DDR Song Contest>winners. You can listen to the songs by clicking "play" by the musicians' names.
Beatdrop's "Until Forever" is a progressive contemporary-influenced technotrance breakbeats style song at a moderate tempo of about 155 bpm. (estimating)
This one will be subject to severe cutting, at an original length of almost 5 minutes. We won't see it in full glory at the arcade. Looking at a tough 8 to tough 9 out of this, depending on what rhythms the stepchart artists follow and how the cutting is done.
Sanxiun7's "Eternus" Starts out with some beautiful piano, and develops into a "epic trance" with a heavy 6th/12th rhythm, similar to Burning Heat, but less rocking, and a bit more epic sounding. It's also somewhere around 150-160bpm. It's got some interesting vocals. This one's a lot like the old CS/IIDX (and as of SuperNova, AC) classic, Shining Polaris. Looking at an easy-clear, hard-PA 8. It's also fairly long, at 4:10, so we'll see some serious cutting. I expect the vocals and intro will be the only parts uncut.
Both are 100% MIDI, with the exception of the limited vocals in Eternus, which will make cutting and modifications easier for Konami to do without butchering the song. _________________

The winners have been contacted informing them of the large possibility to use their songs on SuperNOVA2, and Universe 2. There might have been an Ultramix 5 name drop, but I can't remember.
I say "large possibility" because sometimes things go wrong, but the intention is to use them for those games. _________________

That's nice
Although I'd be much more overjoyed if they added some "easier" Stepmania Fanmade songs or something (neoMax! k2chaos!) |

Ultramix 5 wasn't name-dropped.
I was personally guessing that the songs would show up on Hottest Party. _________________

Finally, someone else who thinks mei would be a good song on SN2! I just hope that if they do transfer it they dont cut the slowdown or the ending. _________________

I have a feeling if they DID bring Mei (it'd be cool AND hard!), it'll probably get cut, cuz it's 2:10....But who knows? Konami might actually LISTEN to us & leave it uneditted, like DoLL, which was 1:57. |
