The only really thing keeping me from buying Universe is the pad. I do not know whether it is decent or just plain garbage. Now can I get some one's opinion. How is the pad overall, and does it come with stick grip?

I was thinking of stick gripping it to my metal pad so I can use the bar and have stability.

It's not too bad for a soft pad. Just like the original Konami soft pads from back in the day, it has a decent grip plastic surface and doesn't bunch up too much. It does however begin to slide as time goes by if you use it on a carpet.

I can't score as well as I can when I use my afterburner on the PS2, but that's kind of expected.

You think I can stick grip it to my metal pad?

I'm sure you could stick it to the metal pad, but with most softpads, you play with your shoes off so you don't damage them. If it's taped to a metal pad though and you're playing with no shoes, I'm sure that'd be hell on your feet after a while. If you play it with shoes, I'm sure the softpad wouldn't hold up for very long. :/

Well, you don't always have to use shoes for metal pads. I never use shoes on my metal pad, actually I do better with out.

In that case, I'm sure you could. And if all else fails, duct tape works wonders.
