It seems that lately people are debating which mat is better. The Cobalt Flux, which I own, and the BlueShark metal pads. I've had my Flux for over 2 years now and haven't had a problem, so it's no lie that it's made to last. As for the BlueShark, I'm a little skeptical if it could last as long due to the fact that it uses arcade sensors. It's a nice looking mat though. Who knows, maybe I'll end up getting it just to try it out myself when I have the extra money.

So, which do you think is better and why?

That gives me an idea:
I'll make an illustrated comparison between the two pads.
Sort of comic-style, in a similar fashion to the Mac commercials where there's the one guy who's a Mac and the other who's a PC, and the Mac guy always pwns the PC guy in some way or another.

Except I'll try to keep the propaganda from getting into it.

If you could, it would help. Also, isn't the BlueShark a relatively new dance pad? Many know that Cobalt Fluxes are built to last and have had them for years without trouble, but no one really knows yet if BlueShark can live as long. That's why I'm going to wait a while before I consider buying one.

I got my Cobalt Flux roughly 2 months ago, and it's already at the point where I can't FC a 9 on ITG due to pad errors - and now I'm forced to play strictly at the arcade. Mine certainly was NOT built to last, and I am extremely unsatisfied with my $500.00 purchase. I sent them an email a month ago, and still no reply. I was ripped off, simple as that; and now I'm holding my breath and trusting Dancing Tofu for an awesome pad.

You emailed [email protected] right? Send another just in case. You're still under warranty, so you can send in your Flux for a new one. That's very strange though..you sure it's not the control box that's giving you problems?

I sent two emails to that, and still no reply. I know damn well it's not my control box - that's fine, it's the pad. =\

Anyway, I don't like the way it feels anyway with or without the arcade mod, so I'll just buy a DT500 and hope it's what I want. Plus ever since I stopped playing at home, I've been getting great scores at the arcade. E1.gif

Let's keep our fingers crossed! =D

We've sold 2 products so far, a $2 wallet and a $10 wallet, and no complaints at all on either of those.
Hopefully the DT line of pads will sell better and hold up just as well. (well, actually, preferably they'll hold up a lot better than duct tape, although a duct tape DDR pad might be kinda cool. . . ;D)

i bought a used cobalt flux about 3 months ago, and i love it! mine has the black and textured arcade mod on it. i have no sensitivity problems and it helps me greatly getting used to playing with shoes on and having to hit a little harder at arcades. my only complaint about the pad is that it has no bar and its not thick enough, 2 things i'll be fixing this summer.

Good to know CF's still cranking out SOME good pads, I was worried that they'd simply given up on being the best, which would make selling Quality DDR pads very lonely. frown.gif

I'm sorry, but Blueshark GXG pad is way better than CF IMO. I just can't stand how small the CF is and how much it moves...also the GXG feels more arcade like.

I couldn't even FC any songs on hard, or expert, due to pad errors on my BlueShark. It gave me consistent pad misses right out of the box. I spent $438.62 on it and I am NOT satisfied with it. And of course, when dealing with mymybox, your taking a huge risk with their products and customer service. They haven't responded to any emails I've sent them so far.

EDIT: I said this post as if I HAD these problems. I STILL DO have them. I don't know how to fix them

I can't wait for DT's pads either.

That's wierd trob. The only pad errors I get is on fast runs. The arrows are so extremely sensitive, that you can touch an arrow with your pinky and it will trigger it. So that causes alot of way offs on ITG. I'm gonna have to find a way to fix the oversensitivity. Other than that, the pad is splendid.

Hey idaho, we can't see the pic. =(

trob, is your BS really that bad?
I kind of was hoping that BlueShark would be the new wonderpad and we could hide in the shadows; I'm not too sure DTG's big enough to meet the demands if there isn't someone consistently better.
Anyway, I wish you good luck with your BS BS, it'd be a shame to see another acquaintance throw out $500 to bad service and product malfunction.

I have had my CF for 4 months and I love it. It is working great. Except now it seems to be sensing when I don't really touch it. Maybe I screwed the screws in too much.
